What we'll do
We provide a sensory arts and crafts focused club alongside social skills interventions and support from trained and experienced SEN staff. We operate between the hours of 10-2 pm and we run from the Acorns SRP at Hayes Park School which is a safe secure setting for children with SEN needs and EHCPs. We operate on an 1:3 ratio, we are fully inclusive and we welcome children from SEN settings and schools. If your child requires 1:1 support please contact us to discus this in person.

A typical timetable
Our SEND Sensory Craft Club provides a calm, structured and inclusive environment where children can explore creativity while developing communication, social skills and emotional regulation. * Arrival & Regulation Children are welcomed individually and supported to settle using visual timetables, sensory trays, and calm spaces. This helps reduce anxiety and supports self-regulation. * Attention Autism Session We use the Attention Autism approach developed by Gina Davies to build shared attention, listening and engagement. Sessions include motivating demonstrations (e.g., exciting sensory experiments) followed by structured turn-taking craft activities. * Sensory Craft Activities Children take part in themed sensory crafts such as textured collage, messy painting, slime-making or seasonal projects. Activities are adapted with visual supports, choice boards and 1:1 assistance where needed. * Speech & Language Support Embedded strategies include: • Modelling and expanding language • Visual communication boards • Turn-taking and structured questioning • Support for vocabulary and sentence building * Social Skills Development Small-group games and supported play help develop: • Turn-taking • Emotional understanding • Cooperative play • Positive behaviour strategies * Movement & Reflection Sensory breaks, movement activities and calm reflection time support smooth transitions and positive endings to the day.
