What we'll do
✨ Calling all budding wizards! ✨ Join us for a magical workshop where little ones can design and create their very own Powertex wizard wand. With a wave of their wand, they’ll be ready to cast spells in no time! Powertex is a special fabric hardener that lets you sculpt and transform fabric into incredible works of art. During the session, we’ll shape and craft unique wands, then bring out the details using dry brushing techniques with shimmering mica powders. This is a fun, creative, and slightly messy activity—so we recommend wearing old clothes. ? What’s included: All materials, including gloves and aprons Step-by-step guidance to create and decorate your wand ?‍? Please note: All children must be accompanied by an adult.

About your mentors
The Sensory Place
The Sensory Place
About Us The Sensory Place is a parent-led organisation offering a network of support to families of children with all disabilities aged 0-25 years. We are all parents of a child or children with a disability and we felt that there were just not enough places to go or things to do when you have a child who has additional needs as mainstream activities are just not accessible for many different reasons. We also experienced judgement and isolation as other people do not always understand the difficulties families like ours face. We knew we weren't alone in thinking this and so The Sensory Place was born in 2019 with a view to changing this for the better. We are proud to say we achieved charity status in September 2021. Our charity registration number is 1195932. We offer courses based on the needs of our families, sensory friendly and accessible events designed with the whole family in mind as well as working with a variety of organisations, services and local authorities to make mainstream events accessible to all. We have an ambitious vision for what we want the charity to achieve and how we want families to be able to benefit. We are always looking for new and exciting activities, courses and things to do. Please feel free to let us know if there is anything in particular you would like to see and we will do what we can to bring it to you. Our families will always be at the heart of everything we do and we welcome feedback to help us improve. Every penny we receive in donations goes back into the charity to help us continue to provide events and activities. If you are interested in fundraising for us, please get in touch and we will do what we can to support. So whether your child is a sensory seeker, avoider, both or neither - welcome! We hope that you find the support within the group that you are looking for.
Together for Children Sunderland
Putting the child first
The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme - named 'Wear Here 4' in Sunderland - is a Department for Education funded programme delivered locally and providing fun, enriching activities and tasty, nutritious meals during school holidays. Wear Here 4 Spring, Summer and Winter programmes provide school aged children with an opportunity to get involved in a range of activities centred around sports, culture, arts and learning, as well as providing healthy meals and activities based on developing cooking skills and knowledge about nutrition, that families can use at home. Young people also get the chance to socialise with friends and make new ones, with children across the city coming together to get involved. With more clubs and an ever-growing range of activities and provision. there is something for everyone. From sports to dance, crafts, outdoor fun and there is even a spot of science. We want to give children the chance to have healthy happy holidays so they can: be more active learn new skills meet up with friends and make new ones get a tasty nutritious meal work together and stay safe
