What we'll do
This insightful workshop explores one of the most important aspects of working with children, seeing through their behaviour to the child underneath. The workshop explores simple methods for fundamentally understanding behaviour so we can see exactly what children are trying to communicate to us with their behaviour. The workshop then examines the vital role of the adult to nurture, stimulate and play, and demonstrates how these simple interactions will ultimately help our children to engage and behave more positively as well as building their confidence, self-worth and resilience. The workshop then demonstrates how a simple knowledge of the physiology and neurology of anger, fear and anxiety can help us challenge existing behaviour methods and ultimately support our most vulnerable children to thrive. Based on over 30 years working with vulnerable children, award winning trainer and author, Ben Kingston-Hughes shares simple tips for supporting our most vulnerable children and explores therapeutic games and activities to help children heal.
