This Easter our theme for our musical theatre workshops will be the incredible new film and stage show 'Wicked' - Galinda or Elphaba, which one are you? Read on to find out more about our workshops. PLEASE NOTE - THIS IS A TWO DAY WORKSHOP! Step into the spotlight and bring the magic of musical theatre to life! Our action-packed holiday camp is perfect for young performers who love to sing, dance, and act. Over the course of the camp, participants will dive into the world of theatre, learning show-stopping songs, high-energy dance routines, and engaging acting techniques—all while building confidence and making new friends. Each day is filled with movement, creativity, and fun, as we explore scenes from the popular musical Wicked! With exciting theatre games, team challenges, and even a chance to create original scenes, this is a fast-paced, high-energy experience that will have everyone on their feet and loving every moment. The workshop will culminate in a special showcase that will be filmed and sent on to families following the workshop to enjoy time and time again! We have no doubt that our young stars will dazzle family and friends with their newly honed skills. No experience needed—just bring your enthusiasm, imagination, and love for the stage! Act. Sing. Rutland Youth dance Academy is ran by company director Sarah Bell. RYDA provide weekly classes in musical theatre, street dance and contemporary for dancers of all ages and holiday workshops for young people in and around Rutland.
Suitable for
Young people aged 7 to 11 that love to move, sing, and act. No experience necessary as our expert teacher are on hand to show you the ropes!
Learning aims
Aim 1
Develop Performance Skills – Learn and enhance skills in singing, dancing, and acting, combining them to create awesome performances.
Aim 2
Encourage Creativity & Self-Expression – Experiment with different roles, improvisation, and storytelling to develop unique characters and imaginative ideas.
Aim 3
Boost Confidence & Stage Presence – Build self-assurance through vocal projection, expressive movement, and character work.
What you'll need
You will need to bring any materials that we provide you to your workshop such as scripts or song books, a load of energy and a huge smile!
