A summary
We are very excited that our very own awesome Youth Worker Dannie, far better known for being a professional musician with his band Cantaloop (they have performed six times at Glastonbury!) has linked up with Ledbury Poetry Festival. Together they will be delivering a series of workshops that will enable participants to learn how to write and perform rap. Do you enjoy music and/or creative writing? Then this is your opportunity to explore the medium of rap in workshops that are going to be fun, supportive and led by somebody with lived experience of the genre. Session 1: Introduction to Rap and Rhyming Objective: Introduce participants to rap as a form of expression, focusing on rhyme, rhythm and flow. Allowing their own personal expression to come to the fore. Session 2: Creating Rap Templates Objective: Help develop rhythm and flow to your rap lines. Show how to create your own templates. Session 3: Building Stories Through Rap Objective: Help participants develop storytelling skills through rap. Session 4: Performance and Confidence Building Objective: Enhance performance skills and boost confidence. Session 5: Recording Our Raps

About your mentor
Cube Youth
Providing fun, positive activities since 2016
Cube Youth provides activities for young people who are of the age to be in school Years 6-13. We offer sessions which are fun and also provide something extra. Whether it’s learning something different, getting active, boosting confidence and wellbeing, meeting new friends, enjoying our arts and games activities, or just relaxing, we have something for everyone. We offer a term time evening programme of open access provision and small group sessions. We also provide a range of activities and trips in the school holidays. Come along and meet our friendly Youth Work Team and see for yourself what we are all about!
What we require
Our charity strives to be inclusive, but attendance is reliant on young people being able to adhere to our Code of Conduct. Young people must also be able to attend independently. Young people must follow the rules of our Code of Conduct, a copy of this is available in our noticeboard at the front of the building and alongside the Sign In sheets. Any persistent misbehaving will result in a temporary suspension or permanent exclusion as we strive to ensure that everyone feels safe at each session. If young people have any concerns during a session then we urge them to raise this there and then with a Youth Worker so we can resolve this. Young people must attend independently and are responsible for signing in upon arrival and signing out when they leave. If they leave before the session has ended then we are no longer responsible for them and they must leave the premises and cannot sign back in.

Cancellation Policy
Sessions are free to attend but we do reserve the right to implement suspensions and/or a permanent ban if young people do not adhere to our Code of Conduct.

My experience consists of a leisure activity, on a specific date(s), and therefore the 14-day ‘cooling off period’ under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply.
