What we'll doKids Club Activity Camp is a holiday camp delivered by Prostars. Prostars is a sports coaching company who deliver high quality physical education to primary schools across Gloucestershire and Herefordshire and deliver holiday clubs during the school holiday period.
This Easter we are delivering at Ashfield Park Primary School in Ross on Wye - HR9 5AU
Our Holiday Club provisions main aims are to provide children with opportunities to be active, socialise with others, learn new skills and most importantly have FUN.
Every camp we deliver has a theme and we tailor this to times of the year – for example, throughout the summer we had a film week, wet and wild week and schools out for summer week and with the Christmas delivery we have a festive themed week planned.
Each day we deliver a variety of sporting activities such as – dodgeball, cricket, archery, basketball, netball, tennis, gymnastics, dance, hockey, lacrosse, football, tag rugby, rounders and fencing. Children have choice throughout each day and we run two activities side by side to ensure that children take part in an activity that they would like.
Alongside the sports activities, we also provide opportunities for children to play – games such as hide and seek, forest school activities, tag games and parachute games. Again children have the choice throughout the day and can play in smaller groups if they would like to. A huge part of our clubs is children being active throughout the day and every activity is monitored by a member of staff.
We also provide children the opportunity to take part in an arts and crafts session every day. WE provide all the equipment for this session and again children have the choice to take part or not. The arts and crafts session is again based around the theme of the week and whatever the children make they get to take home. This time allows children to relax and take a break from the activities – children can also choose to do some crafts whilst the sporting games are taking place if they would prefer a quitter space.
Each day we have a break time (just like school) where children can eat their snack and have a small time to relax. Lunch time happens anywhere between 12pm & 1:30pm here the whole groups including staff will sit together to eat their lunch. At certain venues we build dens to eat our lunch in or we just use the schools lunch time tables and play some music in the background.
Each venue has a quiet space where children can go if they feel like they want to. This area is monitored by a staff member and colouring etc is available to help children relax and feel comfortable.
The staff love to get involved with all the games and activities throughout the day and all have experience working in primary schools with a range of abilities and needs.
