What we'll do
In June: Spend a creative day beside the River Ouse exploring the flowing, layered art of Nuno felting with textile artist Ali Rabjohns.

Inspired by water, river plants, reflections, movement, and the changing riverside landscape, this workshop begins with drawing, mark-making, and botanical inks/watercolours to gather colour ideas, textures, and imagery from the natural world.

Using fine merino wool, silk fabrics, natural fibres, and wet felting techniques, you’ll learn how to create lightweight layered textiles that combine open weave fabric, wool and natural fibres in beautifully organic ways.

Your finished work may become a small wall hanging, wearable textile, vessel, scarf, or abstract artwork inspired by the river environment and your own creative responses to it.
Fusion Felting combines wet felting, natural fibres, texture, stitching, and intuitive textile processes in a calm and meditative space for sensory exploration and mindful making.

In July: Join textile artist and therapeutic arts facilitator Ali Rabjohns for an immersive day of sculptural felting inspired by inner worlds, memory, dreams, and imagined landscapes.

Beginning with a guided drum journey alongside drawing, mark-making, and botanical inks, you’ll gather imagery, textures, symbols, and forms that will inspire your own three-dimensional felted landscape.

Using wet felting, needle felting, naturally-dyed wool, silk fibres, and layered Fusion Felting techniques, you’ll create richly textured sculptural forms exploring contours, pathways, geological surfaces, caves, vessels, and symbolic terrain.
Suitable for beginners and experienced creatives alike.

All materials provided. Tea and biscuits included. Please bring a packed lunch.
