A summary

As a teenager I would have loved the opportunity to explore a recording studio or learn how to make films with professional equipment. Now, after decades of experience in these industries, I enjoy helping young people do exactly that - developing their creative ideas and building real skills in music production and film-making. Whether you just want to explore or are preparing to apply to film school or music technology courses, this could be for you. Each student brings an idea - a song, a beat, a story, a film concept. Together we bring it to life step by step in my Forest Row studio, using professional tools and guidance. By the end, you’ll have a finished track or film you can share with friends, family and the wider world. Or you can just come along and learn more about music and film production techniques. Music & Sound-design production training: I work one-to-one with young people who want to: • Record and produce their own songs or musical compositions • Explore contemporary composition, arranging and sound design • Learn studio techniques (microphones, effects, mixing, mastering) • Release tracks on platforms like SoundCloud or Spotify Film-Making production and post-production training: I work one-to-one with young people who want to: • Plan, shoot and edit a short film or music video • Learn camera techniques, lighting and sound recording • Edit using professional workflows (Avid, DaVinci Resolve) • Add soundtracks, effects and colour grading for online release
