What we'll do
Inspired by this year’s Earth Day, children will explore Coventry Transport Museum to learn about the transport collection, before taking part in engineering workshops throughout the day, learning important skills around innovation, inventing and the use of real tools and programming equipment. With awe inspiring authentic objects, cutting-edge science stories, and hands on experiences, Coventry Transport Museum celebrates and connects the past, present and future of science and technology. By presenting STEM content in surprising and imaginative ways, our experiences expose new perspectives of science and technology to inspire our young audiences.

CV Life
Discover Coventry's museums in creative ways.
CV Life represents the partnership working between two organisations; Coventry Sports Foundation (CSF) and Culture Coventry Trust (CCT). With both organisations operating as CV Life, it provides the opportunity for Coventry residents and visitors to have an improved experience of sport, culture and leisure within the city. CV Life provides a vast leisure and cultural offer to all communities in Coventry and visitors to the city, offering everything from attractions, museums, leisure centres, educational programmes to community outreach projects. CV Life is home to three of Coventry's museums: Coventry Transport Museum, home to the world’s largest collection of British road transport, including the two fastest cars in the world. The award-winning Herbert Art Gallery & Museum, which celebrates the city’s culture, history and arts. The Lunt Roman Fort, a fully excavated and partially reconstructed turf and timber fort, including the only gyrus in the Roman Empire. Between them, these attractions proudly tell stories of Coventry’s unique history to over 800,000 visitors per year from around the world. CV Life is ever evolving and continuously looking for new ways to encourage people to be active and engaged in ways that suit them, their interests and needs.
When you arrive
When you arrive at Coventry Transport Museum, please make your way to the main reception area, which is a large desk area as you enter through the rotating doors. You will see a member of our staff, wearing a purple CV Life uniform. This person works in the ticket area of the museum. Let them know that you are here to attend the HAF programme and they will direct you to our Learning and Engagement Team, who will check you against the register and lead you to the workshop area. Parent's are not required to stay, but they are welcome should the young person need their support. Snacks and drinks are available during the day, but we do recommend bringing your own bottle of water with you too. Lunch will be served in the museum café, where your child can enjoy the social environment of the museum. This will be supervised by our team, with children seated together around a large table for relaxed time together. When you arrive in the morning, your child will have a menu with three hot meal options to choose from. Children aged 7-10 must be dropped off and collected by a parent/carer.
