A summary
Two Day – Mental Health First Aid A practical skills and awareness course designed to give you: - A deeper understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect people’s wellbeing, including your own. - Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues. - The confidence to step in and support someone to recover their health by guiding them to appropriate support. - Three years of access to the MHFAider Support App® with 24/7 digital support. - Access to exclusive resources, ongoing learning opportunities, and the benefit of joining England’s largest community of trained MHFAiders®. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an internationally recognised training course which teaches people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis. MHFA England training won’t teach you to be a therapist, but just like physical first aid, it will teach you to listen, reassure and respond, even in a crisis. Adult MHFA England courses are for everyone aged 18 upwards. Every MHFA England course is delivered by a quality assured Instructor Member who has attended MHFAE’s in depth Instructor Training Programme accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health, and is trained to keep people safe and supported while they learn.
About your mentor
Shine Lincolnshire
A life of value, enabling people to Shine.
Shine Lincolnshire is a health and wellbeing charity dedicated to strengthening communities and ensuring that everyone has access to the support they need. We believe that local connections are key to improving mental health and wellbeing, and we work across the county to bring people together. By linking individuals, grassroots organisations, and statutory services, we create a more supportive and accessible network of care, making sure that no one is left without help due to geographical or digital barriers. In addition to building these connections, we provide direct wellbeing support through our community hub in Horncastle, offering a safe and welcoming space where people can access support groups and connect with others. We also distribute funding to grassroots organisations delivering mental health initiatives, ensuring that vital local services continue to make a difference. Our team of trained peer support workers, all with lived experience, offer one-on-one guidance to help individuals navigate their mental health journeys in a compassionate and person-centred way. To further empower communities, we provide accredited training in mental health first aid, suicide prevention, and physical first aid, equipping people with the skills to support others in times of crisis. At Shine, we are committed to creating a county where no one feels alone, and where strong community connections enable people to live healthier, more fulfilling lives.
