A summary
From the start of each day, children are supported by our experienced coaching team and helped to settle into a positive, structured training environment.. Each day begins with high-energy movement games such as fireball tig and stuck in the mud to build confidence and teamwork. Children take part in supervised pad work, learning fundamental punches and kicks while improving fitness, balance, and coordination. Sessions include engaging challenges like battle bag, sumo balance games, and team-based obstacle course building where they design and complete their own physical missions. We teach exciting “ninja-style” movement drills that develop agility, focus, and body control. Alongside the physical activities, we include guided sessions on self-control, respect, anti-bullying awareness, and simple nutrition education to help children understand how to fuel their bodies for performance. Creative time may involve drawing their own ninja character or designing a healthy meal plate. Children leave each day feeling accomplished, energised, and proud of what they have achieved in a disciplined, supportive martial arts environment.

About your mentor
British Military Martial Arts Altrincham
Motivate students to achieve their goals
British Military Martial Arts Welcome to British Military Martial Arts, the only organisation in the UK to have both ex-military and civilian instructors teaching military themed martial arts. Young children and adults are welcomed at all levels to learn how martial arts can be combined with fun, fitness and structure to help anyone get the most out of their life. British Military Martial Arts and our team have put together programmes designed specifically for certain age, gender or ability groups. From Little Soldiers 4-7 years, Cadets 8-11 years, Adults and Ladies only. All of our instructors are inspirational and motivational and will get the most out of you in every class. Who better to teach children important values such as discipline, self-control and respect than ex-service men and women who personify these values. All of our instructors are close protection experts and the syllabus we teach is a mixture of: Kickboxing, Boxing, Karate, Kung-fu, Tae Kwon Do, Ju-jitsu and MMA – all taught with a military flavour.
FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions 1. Does my child need any martial arts experience? Not at all. Our holiday programme is beginner-friendly and designed so children of all abilities can take part, build confidence, and progress at their own pace. 2. Do I need to bring any equipment? No — we provide all training equipment, including pads and safety equipment. Children just need to wear comfortable sports clothing and bring a water bottle. 3. What should my child wear? Comfortable sportswear such as a t-shirt and joggers or shorts. No jeans or restrictive clothing. Trainers are ideal unless advised otherwise. 4. Is there sparring or fighting? No. Our holiday sessions focus on pad work, movement drills, fitness games, and skill development in a controlled and structured environment. 5. Is it safe for beginners? Yes. All activities are supervised by experienced coaches and adapted to suit age and ability. We prioritise safety, respect, and controlled movement at all times. 6. What if my child is shy or nervous? That’s completely normal. Many children attend without knowing anyone. The structured activities and team games help them settle in naturally and build confidence. 7. Will my child be grouped by age? Where possible, children are grouped by age and ability to ensure sessions are appropriate, engaging, and safe. 8. What does a typical day include? A mix of martial arts pad work, fitness games like fireball tig and battle bag, team challenges, obstacle course activities, character-building discussions, and creative tasks — plus meal and rest breaks. 9. What meals are provided? Healthy, balanced packed lunches are provided as part of the programme to eligible children, alongside discussions about simple nutrition and how food fuels performance. 10. What if my child has additional needs or medical requirements? Please let us know in advance so we can understand how best to support your child and ensure they have a positive experience.
