A summary
A half-day nationally accredited training course for Head Teachers/SLT, EVCs & School Business Managers focused on visit emergency response planning that covers what to do if there is an incident away from school. This course is designed to provide participating EVCs, designated Emergency Contacts and other senior leaders in all schools with the necessary theoretical knowledge, understanding and competence to manage critical incidents and emergencies that might take place during a school visit.

Advice and training for Educational Visits
We provide comprehensive, affordable and personalised advice, guidance and training to Local Authorities, Trusts and schools, care homes and youth organisations. Our packages will enable your school or organisation to offer high quality programmes of educational visits and outdoor learning without compromising the safety of staff or students. Longtown EVAS provides the following services: Access to a ‘Competent Person’ as defined by The Management of Health and Safety and Work Regulations 1999. A range of face-to-face Educational Visits training that is accredited by the national panel of Outdoor Education Advisers (OEAP). The training can be delivered at your school site or via open courses at a range of venues. Bespoke training for individual schools / MATs that focusses on specific themes e.g. Risk Benefit Analysis or local area activities. Review of Educational Visits policy and practice.

An Accredited Member of the Outdoor Education Advisers Panel with 8 years advisory experience across three local authorities. • Current regional panel chair and member of the OEAP National Board. • A qualified teacher and experienced trainer (EVC, Visit Leader, eVisit and bespoke training) whose feedback for all courses is consistently excellent. • A former Primary School Deputy Head Teacher and experienced EVC and Visit Leader. • 12 years management experience gained in children’s residential outdoor education centres. • A qualified Outdoor Activities instructor, coach and leader with qualifications and expertise in a broad range of Mountain, Cave and Paddlesport activities. • A qualified Flood and Swift Water Rescue Technician. • Emergency response experience as a full member of Longtown Mountain Rescue Team.
