Step into the world of textiles, paint and print!
Inspired by poetry and nature, students will explore pattern, texture, and mark-making through drawing and painting. Using these creative experiments as a starting point, they will develop their own unique fabric designs, playing with colour, repetition, and surface texture.
Participants will learn how to use fabric paints and traditional Indian block-printing techniques to create beautiful printed textiles. They will also discover the art of stitching and mending through Japanese sashiko and Indian kantha embroidery.
This hands-on workshop encourages experimentation, creative discovery, and personal expression, giving students the opportunity to develop their own designs in to a cushion cover, tote bag or t-shirt!
An artist Working with print and paint, Holly studied Fine Art at Central St Martins College of Art and later completed an MA in print and textiles at NUA. She regularly exhibits nationwide and teaches alongside her studio work. She is exhibiting in the RA Summer Exhibition this year!
30 July- David Oates
Comic workshops are in high demand at the moment as the market for comic books and graphic novels blooms. In this workshop David will guide you through the process he follows when creating a new comic, from selecting the correct moments and frames, storyboarding and panels. By the end of the session learners will have a better understanding of how comics are created from start to finish, you will create a short 8 panel sequence and discuss ways to move your ideas forward.
David Oates is an author and illustrator of children's books, The Imagination Thief and The Dream Hoarder were published in 2022 and 2024 with Emira Press. Presently he is a student on the world renowned Masters in Children's Book Illustration in Cambridge developing new material and developing his practice.

Beyond the Brush – Face Painting Workshop
Join artist Lily Lagumerá from Florence and the Facepaints and step into the colourful world of face painting, where skin becomes a canvas for creativity.
Designed for children and teens who love art, makeup, festivals, theatre, or creative self-expression, this hands-on workshop explores the history of face painting before introducing modern face and festival art techniques.
Learn the basics of professional face painting, including paint activation, brush control, blending, line work, stencil and eco-glitter application, and creating quick, eye-catching designs. We’ll start by practising on design boards before moving on to arms, faces, and painting each other.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or already love getting creative, this relaxed and supportive workshop is all about building confidence, learning new skills, and having fun. By the end, you’ll have created your own face paint designs and learned techniques you can use at parties, festivals, performances, and beyond.

Lily is a Suffolk-based artist, face painter, and creative maker with a passion for bringing colour, imagination, and joy into everyday life. Inspired by nature, storytelling, and the magic of childhood wonder, her work celebrates creativity in all its forms.
6 August- Jodi Peck
Discover the art of wire work jewellery making in this hands on workshop designed for young creatives aged 10–16. Participants will explore a variety of tools and techniques, learning core wire wrapping skills alongside methods for shaping, hammering, and forming metal. They’ll then design and create their own bespoke piece using eco friendly metals and repurposed beads and stones. Guided step by step in a supportive, inclusive environment, everyone will leave with new skills, increased confidence, and a unique piece of jewellery to take home.
Jodi Peck is a jewellery maker with over 25 years’ experience, with a background in silversmithing, working primarily with eco silver, copper, brass, and repurposed materials. Her practice centres on eco conscious design, often incorporating salvaged beads and semi precious stones to promote creative reuse.
12 August- Rose Feather
Bungled Up Folklore Book-Making is a day-long workshop includes story-writing, illustration and simple book binding. By the end of the day all the young people will head home with a unique copy of their own hand-sewn bungled up folklore book.
Rose Feather is an illustrator, storyteller and picture book maker based in Norwich. She is often commissioned to live illustrate at hospitals, theatres and galleries. Rose is the director of The Telling Stories Press CIC, and makes picture books with people whose voices are less well heard.
13 August- Stuart Paterson
Ready to turn your ideas into comics? Join Create, Fold, Repeat! – Create Your Own Mini Comic
Through fun drawing games, character design challenges and collaborative storytelling activities, participants will learn how to create their own folded mini-comics from start to finish. Whether you love drawing already or are trying comics for the first time, the workshop is designed to be relaxed, welcoming and accessible to all skill levels.
Young creators can work individually or in teams, experiment with different artistic techniques and even try optional AI-assisted story prompts to spark new ideas. By the end of the day, everyone will leave with their own unique mini-comic to take home and share.
All materials are provided — just bring your imagination!
Stuart Paterson is a comics creator, illustrator and animator with decades of experience working creatively to bring stories to life. He delivers fun, hands-on workshops helping people of all ages and abilities to create weird and wonderful tales on their own or as teams - making creativity accessible, playful and inspiring.

Join Joel to create some illustrated paper puppets to make mini stop gap animations in the library and at home.
Joel Millerchip is an illustrator and muralist art creates characters based imagery that tells stories.
Well know for his flat nosed characters and murals across Suffolk.
20 August- Sarah Denton
Get ready to knot, twist and create with Paracord Power! This fun, hands-on workshop is perfect for teens who love making things and trying something a little different. With its bright colours, cool textures and easy-to-learn techniques, paracord is a brilliant way to turn simple knots into bold, practical creations to take home and show off.
Whether your teen is already crafty or just wants to give something new a go, this workshop is friendly, creative and full of feel-good achievement: No experience necessary! They’ll build confidence as they make, experiment and see their project come to life—one knot at a time.
Sarah Denton is a life-long hobby crafter with interests in various handicrafts and media. She predominantly works with cords, yarns, threads and fabrics, and currently enjoys creating mixed media projects combining machine sewing with handcrafting techniques, including macrame, felting and applique. Sarah has many years’ experience working with youth groups and most recently has been running crafting sessions with 10–14-year-olds.
26 August- Angela Laverick
Behind the Mask Workshop
This is a fun, interactive and lively full mask workshop. Participants will make their own mask, create their own characters and tell their own stories. It introduces them to full mask theatre and the devising process. They gain confidence in a safe and encouraging environment, using the mask to explore new techniques and styles of performance. Participants can let their imagination and creativity shine while telling stories that are important to them. This is also a great way to meet new friends, make meaningful connections and have a laugh!
Angela Laverick is an actor and freelance teacher of drama and dance, specialising in physical theatre and mask. She creates and runs workshops for all ages and abilities. Her workshops are many and varied, including, mask, mask making, puppetry, physical theatre, storytelling and dance. She is also Co-founder of Tor Theatre who work mainly in educational and community settings.
27 August- Lorna Garside
Learn how to create your own cuts, bruises and gory special effects makeup looks! Participants will learn how to create the gory looks they've seen on stage and screen. You'll be making your own stage blood, creating latex prosthetics, and learning how to apply cuts and bruises. We'll build the weirdest and most creative story we can think of and design the special effects to go along with it!
We'll be exploring character development, coming up with the most creative, off the wall fantasy characters and designing their look. We'll use professional standard SFX makeup to recreate our designs, bringing our characters to life!
Lorna-Jane Garside is an arts practitioner and actor based in Ipswich with a wealth of knowledge across both theatre and film. Lorna specialises in designing and delivering drama workshops with and for young people in and around Suffolk.
