A summaryEver wanted to climb all of Snowdonia peaks over 3000 feet high? Now’s you’re chance!
This is a VERY tough challenge and a head for heights is needed along with a very good level of fitness. Your fitness is important and you will need to train on hills!
Day 1-
10 miles with 1177m of ascent.
You will be starting with the toughest of all the peaks, Crib goch, this is a knife edge ridge towards Snowdon itself. Along route you will also cover crib y ddysgl then up to Snowdon itself.
Day 1 is a circular walk starting and finishing at Pen Y grwyd.
Day 2-
11 miles with 1784m of ascent.
You will climb from Nant peris up to Elidir fair, along to Y Garn, Glyder Fawr, Glyder fach ,then up to Tryfan and back down via a lake to Ogwen valley.
Day 2 is a point to point hike so lift sharing will be required leaving two cars at either end.
Day 3- 12 miles with 1434m of ascent.
Day 3 is the longest. You will climb up to Pen y ole wen, then on to Carnedd Dafydd, Carnedd Llewelyn, Yr Ellen, Foel grach, Carnedd Gwenllian and finally Foel fras. .
Day 3 is also a point to point hike and cars will have to be left at the end.
On day one and two, cars will need to be left at the other end of the hike ready for day three. This will be sorted out the evening before so we can still get an early start both days. This is most important on day 3 as it’s a longer hike.
We do the three days in this order as Crib goch needs to be done on day one with fresh legs due to the ridge. You must have a head for heights!
