What we'll do
Join us this Easter for Lights, Camera… Easter!, a fun and creative 4-day performing arts studio experience for ages 7–13. Throughout the week young performers will explore acting, dance and filming as they work together to create their own Easter News Show. Children will take part in interviews, character scenes, dance routines and arts and crafts while designing props and studio sets for filming. It’s a fantastic opportunity to build confidence, express creativity, work as a team and most importantly make new friends in a welcoming and supportive environment. Everyone will receive a free meal and snack.

About your mentor
Salford Arts Theatre
Making theatre accessible to all.
Salford Arts Theatre has been delivering acting classes to young performers for over a decade. Our team, made up of professionals working in the industry, share their knowledge and skills to boost confidence and enable children to pursue a career within the industry.
What to wear
Children should wear comfortable clothing suitable for movement and creative activities each day. As the sessions include acting, dance and practical activities, we recommend clothing that allows children to move freely and safely. Please ensure children wear closed-toe trainers or suitable shoes. For safety reasons crocs, sliders, flip flops or open footwear are not permitted during the sessions.
Learning aims
Aim 1
Build confidence performing on stage and on camera, expressing themselves clearly, using voice and expression, and celebrating their achievements.
Aim 3
Learn teamwork by planning, rehearsing, and performing together, sharing roles, supporting peers, and collaborating creatively in a fun environment.
Aim 5
Foster friendships and social skills as children collaborate, show empathy, share leadership, and celebrate achievements together in a creative space.
Aim 2
Boost creativity by helping children develop original ideas for characters, stories, dance, and props, bringing imagination to life collaboratively.
Aim 4
Develop strong communication by speaking, listening, and using expressive body language in performances, interviews, and group interactions confidently.
Aim 6
Experience pride and achievement as children see their characters, dances, and props come together in a final filmed Easter News Show.
Lunch and Snacks
Lunch and snacks will be provided for all children attending the sessions. We aim to offer a simple, child-friendly lunch along with snacks and water throughout the day to keep everyone energised for the activities. If your child has any allergies, dietary requirements or specific food needs, please ensure these are clearly communicated when completing the booking form. Children are also welcome to bring their own water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day.
