A summary
We’re taking teenagers to the next level in outdoor adventures! Not only will they get involved in everything from zorbing, archery, bushcraft, axe throwing, e-scooters, climbing and high rope activities. They’ll also be rewarded with the Leadership Skills Foundation 'I Can Lead Award,' as they’re guided to also lead younger participants in our outdoor and adventurous activities. The 'I Can Lead Award' uses adventure and physical activity to help learners develop essential leadership skills. This fun and flexible award focuses on personal development, encouraging learners to become more community-minded through volunteering opportunities and building skills such as organisation and communication. There is also a daily Healthy Snack Taste test and packed lunches are also provided. All your teenagers need is a sense of adventure, a water bottle, and to dress for the weather! A few T&Cs from Brighton & Hove City Council: • Eligibility criteria – Brighton & Hove HAF funded places are for children and young people in reception to year 11 who receive benefits-related free school meals. • Limits on bookings – Over Summer, Eequ will permit each eligible participant to be booked on to 16 HAF places across all providers in the city. If a session is not attended, HAF places cannot be added back on to an individual’s allocation, regardless of reason. It is therefore important that sessions are cancelled before the activity starts, and ideally giving a minimum of a few days’ notice where possible to allow other children to benefit. Bookings can be managed by the Booker by logging into Eequ and reviewing their Schedule.

FAQs
WHAT TO WEAR Name all clothing and belongings. Dress comfortably with clothing appropriate for the weather, that you don’t mind getting dirty. Long trousers prevent scratches and nettle stings. Long sleeves are required for archery. Most activities will continue even in the rain, so bring a coat. We recommend sturdy trainers – no wellies or open toed shoes. SUN PROTECTION Apply sun protection before arrival each morning. Children should also carry their own sun lotion and know how to apply this. Staff will remind children at break times to apply sun lotion and support younger participants. Participants should also have a sun hat and thin layer to cover arms and neck. LUNCH Lunch and a healthy snack are provided, so children DO NOT need to bring their own food. Please identify allergens and dietary needs at booking. We are a nut free setting. A refillable water bottle is all they need bring. Due to food safety reasons, we are unable to allow any birthday cakes (or any other treats) to be brought in to share with groups. DON’T BRING! DO NOT pack valuables such as mobile phones, watches, computer games, ipods, etc. There will be no time or use for these. We cannot accept responsibility if items are damaged, lost or stolen. TROUBLE SETTLING Please allow for extra time on the first day, to fill in any paperwork and talk to the camp manager. This also gives extra time for your child to settle in with you there. Some children do have first day worries, but our staff are experienced, and most children are quickly distracted by the activities presented. Having a friend also booked on camp is a great way to ensure they settle quickly, so spread the word! MEDICAL NEEDS Please ensure you have informed us of conditions and medicines on the booking form. If there are any changes, please let us know. On the first day our camp manager will check all the details with you at drop-off. Please ensure all medication is clearly labelled in its packaging. ILLNESS AND ACCIDENTS AT CAMP All our staff are First Aid qualified. We expect some minor bruises, grazed knees, or stings. However, should a child suffer a more serious injury or fall ill at camp, the Booker will be contacted immediately. All contact information will be checked on the first day at drop-off. If your child is ill on the morning of camp, please contact us directly. If your child has a high temperature, is vomiting, or has diarrhoea, we cannot take them on camp for 48hrs after the symptoms last present themselves. PICK-UP Please arrive by 4pm to collect your child. If you’re likely to be delayed, please call the camp to notify staff. You will be given the Camp Manager’s phone number on the first day.
