What we'll do

Our ponydays run from 9:30am to 2:30pm, the children will be split into groups on arrival. Each group will be having a horse riding lesson or an equestrian vaulting session (depending what the kids prefer) and a horse care session.Time permitting, they will have another ride in the afternoon, which can be games on horseback, vaulting, a ride out, or similar. They will also enjoy to be involved in the care of the ponies, stable duties, grooming and lots more. The Children will have a cooked lunch at 12;30 and they will be offered a snack at around 2:30pm, just before home going time...

Lads Lodge is a small, family owned Riding Centre in Cumbria, based near Carlisle. With over 30 years of experience, we pride ourselves in providing a professional and friendly service for clients of all ages.

Lads Lodge Ponydays

Our ponydays are hugely popular, they are packed full of action, adventure and fun. The participants will learn the basics of horse riding, horse behaviour and how to care for a horse. We also offer equestrian vaulting, which is gymnastic on horseback for anyone who would like to give it a go. Our vaulting barrels competitions are always a hit and our games on horseback are great fun and usually get quiet noisy, as the teams cheer each other on. A healthy, warm lunch is provided and each child will get a rosette at the end of the day. Come and join in the fun, make new friends and meet our lovely ponies.
