A summary
This course is accredited by ITC, the awarding body, and is an industry-specific, two-day (16-hour) Outdoor First Aid Course for professionals working outdoors with people of all ages. From Forest School Leaders and Outdoor Coaches to Outdoor Education and Adventure professionals, DofE Expedition Leaders, Outward Bound instructors, Guiding, Scouting, and Youth Leaders, this course is for you. An externally regulated course, meeting Ofsted EYFS workplace requirements, this course also meets The Institute for Outdoor Learning Band 3 Outdoor First Aid and Emergency Paediatric First Aid requirements, equipping you to deal with incidents in often remote or inaccessible woodland and countryside locations. It also covers the one-day First Aid at Work requirement. Additional certificates may be purchased. The training will take place both indoors, in a modern teaching space, and outdoors with scenarios conducted in our woodland Forest School setting. Certificates, valid for three years, are awarded by ITC through ActFast First Aid. Sarah Walker is an experienced adult trainer, Forest School Leader, FSA Endorsed Trainer and Scout Leader with extensive experience of working with client groups of all ages in woodlands and schools. A childhood on Dartmoor and a lifetime of adventurous living have given her an understanding of the challenges and risks of taking groups to inaccessible places.

Sarah Walker
Forest School Trainer, First Aid Instructor
If I'm not supporting others to become Forest School Leaders - I'm running First Aid Training or leading my own Forest School programmes across all key stages in mainstream and alternative provision. I am an experienced adult trainer with a background in international teacher training, an FSA Endorsed Trainer, First Aid Instructor and Scout Leader with extensive experience of working with client groups of all ages in woodlands and schools. A childhood on Dartmoor and a lifetime of adventurous living have given me an understanding of the challenges and risks of taking groups to inaccessible places. I am bilingual in Spanish and my fascination with languages continues through my work, training and mentoring international colleagues. I am a member of the Forest School Association's Recognised Provider Working Group and currently treasurer of the Ox-Bucks-Berks local Forest School Association Branch, supporting local colleagues and organising skills shares.
