IMBOLC Volunteer Action Camp … on an Iron Age Fort in West Sussex (near Forest Row) The Boar Oak Project The Celtic festival of IMBOLC marks the beginning of Spring, where we will honour Brigid, goddess of smith-craft! Work days ~ Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd February 2025 Work hours 10 - 4pm Arrival ~ from Friday 31st January - 3PM ~ Finish 8PM Sunday Join Simon to celebrate IMBOLC festival within an ancient woodland. Immerse yourself in rural crafts, practical tasks, fire and feasting while camping on a real Iron Age Fort from the native Celtic tribe. Volunteer roles ‣ Chef & assistant ‣ Task workers Email for questions or to secure a place ~ ironagesmith@gmail.com Tasks we will be working on are: ◇ Dead hedging ◇ Stacking timber ◇ Harvesting timber from the woods ◇ Woodland floor clearing There may also be: Evening Hearth Singing >>> Contribution £25 - £30 per adult and £15 - 20 per child (over 10 years old) based on what you can afford. - Includes food & firewood and camping. (Free entry for the chefs) Even though it will be darker and colder, there is always a strong hearth burning to warm yourself by. You are welcome to come for the whole weekend or just for the day, if you come early enough to join for the whole day. >>> Kit you Need to Bring ‣ If staying - a tent, bed roll and sleeping bag plus personal hygiene supplies (wash gear & towel) ‣ Casual work clothes including work boots, waterproofs + warm clothes & hot water bottle. ‣ Snacks & any extra needs (special food diets) + plate, bowl, mug and cutlery. ‣ There is a basic compost loo on site.
