Home Education - KS2 block mentored by Tycoons Allstars

A summary

Your child will walk into a calm, small group setting with no more than 15 learners. The space is set up to feel open and welcoming, not like a classroom. We usually begin in a circle so everyone can see each other, helping children feel included from the start. Each week centres around developing social confidence in practical, age appropriate ways. That might mean guided group discussion, paired activities, structured interaction tasks or exploring real life situations that children may face in friendships and everyday life. There is a strong focus on: • Speaking and listening skills • Understanding other people’s perspectives • Building confidence in sharing ideas • Learning how to navigate social situations • Developing self awareness Children are never forced to speak, but they are gently supported to participate at their own pace. Confident children are encouraged to practise patience and leadership, while quieter children are given space and support to build their voice safely. Sessions are structured and purposeful, but not rigid. The aim is for children to leave feeling more confident, more understood and more equipped for real world social interaction. This is not academic tuition and it is not therapy. It is a supportive social development group designed specifically for home educated learners ?

Hello! My name is Cat and I am a Home Ed Teacher based in Tameside. I am working with all ages to provide a safe and peaceful environment for young people to learn and thrive.

Additional Information

This group is led by Cat, who has over 7 years experience supporting children with special educational needs, social emotional and mental health needs, and neurodivergence. Cat is: • A Mental Health First Aider • Level 2 qualified in supporting children with specific learning difficulties • Level 3 qualified in Counselling • Level 5 Safeguarding trained • Experienced in consulting and understanding Education Health Care Plans Sessions are structured and facilitated professionally, but delivered in a calm and supportive way. This is not a therapy service and it is not a replacement for specialist provision. It is a social skills and confidence development group designed to complement home education. Group numbers are capped at 15 to ensure children feel safe, heard and supported.
