A summaryHoliday HQ – The Great Outdoors (HAF Programme)
When school closes but work continues, families often need safe and engaging holiday provision where children can stay active, social and supported.
This Easter, Holiday HQ – The Great Outdoors returns to our school, delivered by Junior Adventures Group (JAG), the school’s trusted wraparound care provider. Sessions are led by experienced staff, with dedicated leaders for each age group to ensure activities are appropriate, inclusive and enjoyable.
Holiday HQ offers screen-free holiday days filled with outdoor adventure, creative activities and teamwork, designed to support children’s wellbeing, confidence and social development.

Age-Specific Programmes
As children grow, what they want from their holidays changes too. Holiday HQ provides two age-appropriate programmes so children can take part in activities suited to their stage and interests.
Holiday HQ U8s (Ages 4–7)
For younger children, confidence grows through structure, encouragement and imagination.
Children explore The Great Outdoors through guided activities designed to support early teamwork, creativity and physical development.
Activities may include:
? Mini obstacle courses and team challenges
? Crocodile River crossing teamwork challenge
? Kite and flight challenges
? Making wildflower seed pops to plant at home
? Active games such as Kangaroo Cricket and Crab Football
Activities are designed to be supportive, fun and confidence-building.
Holiday HQ 8+ (Ages 8–12)
Older children often look for greater independence, challenge and teamwork. The 8+ programme offers more energetic and problem-solving activities while remaining fully supervised.
Activities may include:
⚽ Zorb battles and arena-style games
? Challenge Tag and strategic outdoor missions
? Plastic axe-throwing target challenges
? STEM activities such as assembling and testing robotic arms
? Team engineering and building challenges
This programme helps older children develop resilience, teamwork and leadership skills.
Indoor and Outdoor Spaces
Activities take place in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Indoors
Creative craft areas
STEM and building activities
Quiet space for children who may need downtime
Outdoors
Playground or field space
Sports areas for games and team challenges
Nature-based exploration and outdoor learning
All areas are supervised by staff.
Choice and Flexibility
Children are encouraged to try new activities, but participation is always flexible.
If a child prefers not to take part in a particular activity, they will be offered alternative options such as:
Creative crafts
Quiet games or reading
Free play with friends
This helps ensure every child feels comfortable and included.
Group Sizes and Supervision
Children are placed into small supervised groups according to their age.
Typical staffing ratios are approximately 1 adult to 8–12 children, depending on age and activity.
Dedicated leaders oversee each group to ensure children receive appropriate support and supervision.
Food and Nutrition
As part of the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme, children receive nutritious meals and snacks during the session.
Meals may include items such as:
Hot Nutritious Meal
Fresh fruit and vegetables
Water or milk
Dietary requirements, allergies and cultural preferences can be accommodated when shared during registration.

Please note that if you have a booking through HAF, lunch is provided, and children will only need to bring a refillable water bottle.
Update Details: Please update any medical or contact details within your eequ profile.
Medication and SEND: If your child requires medication or has SEND, please contact JAG at hello@junioradventuresgroup.co.uk stating that you have made a HAF booking and that you need to provide us with your child’s medical or SEND information. You will be asked by the team to complete the relevant forms. These must be completed before your child attends.
Suitable Clothing: With sport & activity on offer every day - we suggest comfortable and practical activewear to tackle a range of onsite facilities. We suggest packing spare clothes for your child, so you don’t mind getting messy due to our outdoor play philosophy and arts & craft activities. For younger children – we recommend packing an extra pair of clothes for any toilet accidents that may happen throughout the day.
