A summary
A PPAME HAF Holiday Activity Camp is an exciting, inclusive, and enriching programme designed to support children and young people during the school holidays. Delivered as part of the government’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) initiative, the PPAME HAF camp provides a safe, welcoming environment where children can learn, play, build friendships, and access nutritious meals—all at no cost to eligible families. At the heart of the PPAME HAF Holiday Camp is a strong commitment to creating positive and memorable experiences. Each day is carefully structured with a wide range of engaging activities tailored to suit different ages, interests, and abilities. Children can participate in a variety of sports such as football, basketball, multi-skills games, dance, and team-building challenges that promote physical health, cooperation, and confidence. Creative workshops offer opportunities to explore arts and crafts, drama, music, and cooking, encouraging self-expression and imagination. There are also educational and STEM-inspired sessions, including science experiments, problem-solving tasks, and interactive projects that make learning fun and accessible during the holidays. The PPAME HAF camp goes beyond entertainment by focusing on personal development and wellbeing. Through group activities and collaborative challenges, children develop resilience, communication skills, leadership qualities, and a sense of responsibility. The camp environment promotes respect, inclusion, and positive behaviour, ensuring that every child feels valued and supported. Experienced and trained staff members provide high-quality supervision, mentorship, and encouragement, helping children to build confidence and thrive socially and emotionally. A key element of the PPAME HAF programme is the provision of healthy, balanced meals. Each child attending the camp receives a nutritious meal, helping to reduce holiday hunger while promoting healthy eating habits. Mealtimes are designed to be relaxed and social, giving children the opportunity to connect with peers and learn about the importance of a balanced diet and overall wellbeing. Accessibility and inclusion are central to the PPAME HAF Holiday Camp. The programme is primarily aimed at children who receive benefits-related free school meals, but it also strives to accommodate children with special educational needs and disabilities wherever possible. Activities are adapted to ensure every child can participate safely and confidently. For parents and carers, the PPAME HAF camp offers reassurance and support during school breaks. Families can feel confident that their children are safe, active, well-fed, and engaged in meaningful activities. Ultimately, the PPAME HAF Holiday Activity Camp is more than just a holiday provision—it is a vibrant, supportive community space where children can stay active, develop new skills, build lasting friendships, and return to school feeling confident, healthy, and inspired.
