A summary
The popular Horstead Holiday Activity club is for those aged 8-14 and takes place during Easter, Summer and over the Christmas holidays too. Situated near Norwich, our exclusive site includes a large house and enclosed grounds within which children can feel safe and comfortable. All guests receive a warm welcome and are treated with patience, kindness, and respect. Each day at the Horstead Holiday Activity Club will combine outdoor adventure activities with elements of cooking, baking (and eating), arts & crafts and indoor & outdoor play. All guests will receive a 2-course home-cooked lunch each day and all dietary requirements and allergies can be caterred for. All activity sessions, play and cooking will be led or supervised by qualified instructors and our Chef. All activities will take place within the Horstead Centre's house and grounds, or on the adjacent River Bure. 08:45 - Arrivals 09:15 - Welcome icebreaker games and discussing behaviour agreement 09:30 - Cooking/baking with Chef Claire and/or indoor & outdoor play 11:00 - 1st Outdoor Activity Session (canoeing, archery etc.) 90mins. 12.30 - Lunch in the dining room all together. 13:30 - 2nd Outdoor Activity Session (Rock Climbing, Bushcraft etc.) 90mins. 15:00 - Indoor & outdoor play (arts/crafts (football, rounders, jelly printing) 15:30 - 16:30 - Pick-up window.

With nearly 60 years of experience, the Horstead Centre has established a reputation as a high-quality provider of exciting outdoor activities, holiday clubs, residential visits, and day experiences, for children and young people in Norfolk. Other important information
FOOD - The Horstead Centre has a 5* Food Hygeine rating and we source as many fresh ingredients locally as we can. Our loca lbutcher and dairy deliver to the door. There will be opportuntiies for children to join in the prep and the cooking of daily meals and our menus/cooking session plans are designed to be engaging to cook and delicious to eat. DIETARY REQUIREMENTS - We can cater for all dietary requirements and allergens but ask that you let us know well in advance so that we can prepare a good alternative. KIT & EQUIPMENT - We will send a kitlist out to all those who have booked to ensure that children arrive with shoes and clothes appropriate for the weather. We tend to go outdoors in (almost) all weathers. ADDITIONAL NEEDS - We encourage the parents or carers of children with additional needs to contact us in advance of our provision so that we can discuss together the ways in which we can ensure that your child is both meaningfull involved and safe. SAFEGUARDING - The Horstead Centre are commited to the nurturing, protection and safekeeping of children and young people within their care. It is the responsibility of all staff, apprentices and volunteers to do their best to prevent the abuse and neglect of children and young people and to report any abuse or neglect, alleged or suspected. The Horstead Centre are a member of the Norfolk Safeguarding Children Partnership and encourage all parents or carers to read our Safeguarding policy in advance of any visit.

Easter Activities.
Please find a list of the outdoor activities that we plan to deliver on each day. There will also be time set aside for cooking, art and crafts during each day. Wednesday 1st April - Archery and Canoeing Thursday 2nd April - Crate stacking and Bushcraft Tuesday 7th April - Rock Climbing, Zipwire and Team Games Wednesday 8th April - Camp Cookery and Paddle Boarding Thursday 9th April - Vertical Challenge and Nightline (obstacle course) Friday 10th April - Orienteering and Giant Catapults Monday 13th April - Geocaching and canoeing Before booking please consider if your child is interested in these activities, or if a different day would be more suitable. By making this booking you commit to their participation of these specific activities. RISK MANAGEMENT - Statement of Risk Management for activities: All Horstead instructors hold a relevant National Governing Body (NGB) qualification, or statement of competence signed by an appropriately experienced and qualified person consistent with the requirements of the Licensing Regulations. Activities are regularly observed for quality assurance and for compliance with our activity risk assessments. These risk assessments are reviewed at least annually or if a new consideration arises. The Horstead Centre holds the Adventuremark quality badge and has been deemed to have met or exceeded the necessary standards for the safe delivery of adventurous activities as defined by the Adventurous Activities Industry Advisory Board (AAIAC). Remaining risk: Despite the best efforts of our qualified and professional team, all indoor and outdoor activities hold a small element of risk to the health of participating individuals and groups. Whilst it is the Horstead Centre’s responsibility to mitigate and manage these risks to acceptable levels, we cannot eradicate them entirely. To ensure that all risks are minimised, we need the collaboration and compliance of our guests. The Horstead Centre cannot be held responsible for accidents, illness or injury resulting from any behaviour or actions that are contrary to any guidance and instruction given by the Horstead Centre team or resulting from any unsupervised and/or unsanctioned risky behaviour. Consent: In making a booking with the Horstead Centre the lead person from each visiting group commits to ensuring that all participants (or their legal guardians) understand the small risks associated with our provision, as described in blue above. This same lead person must also ensure that they have received clear, recorded consent from all visitors to attend the Centre and to participate in their chosen activities.

Cancellation Policy
Cancel more than one week before the start to receive a full refund.For places funded through the Holiday Activity and Food Programme, we ask that you cancel your child's place a week or more in advance. This allows us to allocate that space to another personon our waiting list. Furthermore, those who regulalry cancel with less notice than this may risk their future palces in our provision and we reserve the right to cancel bookings for this reason. This will always be done after discussion with the person booking to ensure fairness. For places that are paid for we will refund palces if they are cancelled a week or more in advance fo teh booking> This allows us to fill the space from someone on our waiting list. Cancellations within this time will not be refunded.

My experience consists of a leisure activity, on a specific date(s), and therefore the 14-day ‘cooling off period’ under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply.
