A summary
We will meet at Withen's Clough car park, in the Hebden Bridge area. Please note, this walk is for older children and adults with a good fitness level as it is around 5 miles. If you have younger children who are used to hiking long distances and up very steep hills, please message me and I can discuss whether or not I think this walk is suitable. There will be some steep up-hill walking to get to the Pike, maybe through part of an evergreen forest if the weather allows. Once we reach Stoodley pike, we can enjoy our packed lunches (provided by yourselves) whilst taking in beautiful views of the Todmorden Valley. If you bring a torch with you, I may take you up into the tower :) (depending on the turnout of walkers) the stairway is extremely dark with no lighting inside the tower. There is a balcony at the top of the stairs which you can look out of. If you have an aversion to heights, maybe avoid this part! On the way back down, we have single track paths with rocks and varying terrain. Please wear hiking shoes and appropriate clothing for the weather conditions on the day. i.e. waterproofs, sun hat, sun cream will be needed if we have blue skies. Bring plenty of water and don't forget your picnic :) I will provide brunch bars or similar. Are you ready for adventure?
