Our adventure-packed programme is specially designed for children of all ages, providing a fun, inclusive, and engaging experience! Come and enjoy the benefits of well-being through nature connectiveness, taking part in activities outside in nature within our beautiful woodlands. Promoting enriching physical activity whilst being in a safe environment and socialising. During the day, participants will be involved in healthy food choices and have access to healthy snacks and a hot meal.

About your mentor
Woodland Adventure Zone
Fun, outdoor activities for everyone to enjoy
Set amongst acres of pine trees within Sherwood Forest, Woodland Adventure Zone is a truly unique setting for your outdoor adventure. With access for everyone, the Woodland Adventure Zone provides an exciting experience. Enjoy a thrill-seeking ride on our 90 metre zipline, test your nerve on the leap of faith or learn new skills on our fully-accessible climbing wall. Along with more relaxing activities within the woodland, showing children the benefits of being outside with arts and crafts and bushcraft skills. The range of fun outdoor activities are sure to get your pulse racing.
When you arrive
The Woodland Adventure Zone is part of the Portland College campus, just outside of Mansfield on the A60. Arrival is from 9am, when you will meet the friendly and experienced Woodland Adventure Zone team of staff and volunteers. After signing in, breakfast of fruit or cereal and drinks for all will be served between 9:30 and 10:00am, before starting on the first exciting activity. Children are welcome to bring their own snacks and lunch if preferred.
What We'll Do
Our experience team of staff will lead on a varied timetable of exciting activities each day of the week. Activities may include, but not be limited to: Our activities may include; Climbing; Zip Line, Archery, Bush Craft, Orienteering, Nature Exploration, Arts and Crafts, Healthy Eating and potentially a visit from Nottinghamshire Constabulary who will be joining in with our daily activities. The format of “learning through play” ensures that the children have more confidence, they will be encouraged to use their imagination, speak with positive language, and can support their physical well-being and overall health by being physically active, all whilst boosting their social skills and making new friends.
