What we'll do
Come and have fun outdoors in the grounds at Beacon View Primary Academy. Get involved in some outdoor activities; Learn how to use different tools safely such as a saw or knife; Enjoy making things using natural materials; Make a den or shelter; learn how to light a fire and help make the campfire to cook snacks on; or simply chillax in a hammock. All resources are provided so you can just come along and have a fun day. What to wear: We recommend long trousers and long-sleeved t-shirts to protect from ticks; please wear waterproofs if raining. What to bring: A water bottle. Hot and cold drinks and lunch and snacks are provided. Shelters will be put up in the event of rain.
About your mentor

Forest School Leader and Founder.
My passion to become a Forest School Leader was ignited through my work in horticulture with young adults with learning disabilities. Once introduced to the Forest School concept I was immediately drawn to the ethos that puts the individual firmly at the centre of the process and the benefits that this brings. Led by my passion and determination I qualified as a Forest School Leader in 2018 and have run groups at Hilsea Lines since then. In 2021 I co-founded Portsmouth Forest School CIC with my partner Alison. Our mission is to get people of all ages outside enjoying the natural world and observing the flora and fauna on their doorstep. I decided to become a social enterprise because I want everybody to enjoy the benefits that nature can offer.

Cancellation Policy
Free bookings do not require refunds but as places are limited, please cancel if you cannot attend so that your place can be offered to someone else.Block bookings - No refunds are given if you're unable to make a session within the block. Exception to this is only in the event of the session being cancelled by the mentor due to bad weather or illness. In this case the option will be given to transfer to another date or receive a full refund for that session. Single/Taster sessions/Woodland Play Days - No refunds given if cancelled within 48hours of the session date. Sessions cannot be rescheduled if within 48 hours of session date. Exception to this is only in the event of the session being cancelled by the mentor due to bad weather or illness. In this case the option will be given to transfer to another date or receive a full refund. Birthday Parties - See separate Terms and Conditions when booking a party.

My experience consists of a leisure activity, on a specific date(s), and therefore the 14-day ‘cooling off period’ under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply.
