What we'll do
GENERAL HAF CLUB GTF is pleased to be hosting 15 days of Summer HAF Club, combining fun and engaging activities, indoors and outdoors (weather permitting) along with food and nutrition education. A healthy hot lunch, snacks and water/milk will be provided. Outdoor activities include football, rounders and circus skills. Indoors, participants will have the opportunity to create tissue paper and flower 'windows', make their own gel animal fidget toys, as well as learn more about healthy eating choices in our 'HAF shop'. Special activity dates are listed below. PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTIONS: some activities are flagged for any possible triggers. All remaining dates are for General HAF Club. General HAF Club with Glo-Golf session - 25th August This will be a general club day but with a Glo-Golf session included. Glo-Golf is a kind of Crazy Golf played with luminous clubs and balls PLEASE NOTE: for this session to be effective, the room will be made as dark as possible. UV lights will also be used to mark out the course. Cookstars - 4th, 5th, 11th and 18th August We're really happy to have Helen and the CookStars team return to GTF HAF Club, for four sessions this summer. Each day the group will be split into two: one will prepare their lunch and the other will be outside working up an appetite, then they will swap. After Group 2 has finished their preparation, everyone will get together to enjoy the lunch they made with their very own hands. The menu for each day will be: 4th & 11th August - frittata, and 5th & 18th August - jacket potato, veggie sausage and vegetables, and fruit and yoghurt for desert. PLEASE NOTE: if there's a significant waiting list for these sessions we may decline bookings for the second session with the same menu. Dietary requirements will be met as far as possible. After lunch there will be time for a gentle creative session before home time. Music Therapy - 3rd & 17th August This summer we welcome Felicity who will deliver a music therapy session. Participants will be split into two groups - maximum of 15 each and be encouraged to use a range of instruments to help them connect with their group and express themselves in a safe space. The approach will focus, on, among other things: - encouraging joint attention and turn taking; - giving those with limited verbal skills a way to communicate through sound, singing or movement; - using rhythm and melody to reduce stress; - promoting confidence; - developing movement and co-ordination through instruments. PLEASE NOTE: if there is a significant waiting list, we may decline the second session, since they will be the same. Wild Science - 13th August Also new for GTF's HAF Programme, Wild Science will introduce our participants to a world of science and animal encounters. Children will get to meet and handle a broad mix of exotic mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates, with a knowledgeable presenter on hand throughout to introduce each animal and answer questions. The session is hands-on and interactive, with every child getting their own time with the animals. Please take this into account when booking and consider how suitable this will be for your child. For children with SEND, the session is completely calm and unhurried with everything opt-in, so every child can engage at their own pace and comfort level. No prior experience with animals is needed. DJ Workshop - 27th August This popular session for budding DJ's will use the latest equipment and artists within the field to show participants how to create different tracks and beats. PLEASE NOTE: this session will include loud music and flashing lights, in case these are triggers for your child/ren.

About your mentors
GAINSBOROUGH TRINITY FOUNDATION
In It Together
Social issues affect so many people in so many ways. Established in 2016, Gainsborough Trinity Foundation uses the love of sport to bring the entire community together.
Toby
Friendly, passionate, animal lover.
Hello, my name is Toby, and I have been working with Gainsborough Trinity Foundation for nearly two years. Outside of work, I’m very passionate about staying active. I regularly play football, enjoy padel, and run, all of which help me stay fit, focused, and motivated. I also enjoy visiting the Hollywood Bowl and playing with my family. I have been involved in the HAF (Holiday Activities and Food) programme for around a year and a half now. It’s been a really rewarding experience, giving me the chance to work with young people, support their development, and help create a fun and inclusive environment. My favourite part of HAF has to be the combination of sports, food, and music. I love how these elements come together to create enjoyable, memorable experiences for everyone involved, while also promoting healthy lifestyles and positive well-being.
Izzy
Friendly, sporty and an animal lover
Coach Izzy has been with the Foundation for 6 years, having completed her Community Activator Apprenticeship. She now manages the regular Community Football Programme. She runs the HAF programme and acts as the SEND Lead. Izzy has played for Gainsborough Trinity Women's Team since 2019 and has been voted Supporters Player of the Year many times. She has also represented the Lincolnshire Schools Championship Programme for 3 consecutive years, starting in 2019. Izzy has captained the team for 2 years in a row, demonstrating a strong sense of community and natural leadership.
George Housham
Loves getting out and exploring new cities
Coach George has been at the foundation for five years and has contributed to all of its projects. As the Head of the Youth Programme, he dedicates much of his time to ensuring young people have access to positive opportunities that help reduce crime in the area. He is also the manager of Gainsborough Trinity U21s and has built a strong, supportive, and positive squad. Coach George is passionate about his work with the HAF programme, enjoying the energy of the children and always getting actively involved in games and activities.
Harry Mallett
Funny, Sporty and Outgoing
I'm Harry. I've worked just short of 3 years at the foundation. It's been 2 years since I started HAF, which has been fun. The most enjoyable part of HAF for me is the sporting activities and seeing the kids enjoy and learn new and different sports led by us. Outside of work, I enjoy playing football and trying to play golf.
Arrival & Departure
All sessions will start at 10.00 am in the Roses Suite Marquee. Please bring your child/ren in good time before 10 am so they have a chance to use the toilet and to register. Cancellation Policy
Free bookings do not require refunds but as places are limited, please cancel if you cannot attend so that your place can be offered to someone else.Persistent 'no shows' on 2 or more occasions, and no communication, will result in remaining sessions being cancelled. It is vital that parents record all SEN details to ensure we have sufficient staff to support their child. Please note all dietary requirements. Our aim is to adhere to the HAF healthy eating ethos as far as possible. If your child has particular needs, it would be helpful to discuss them before the booking is confirmed.

My experience consists of a leisure activity, on a specific date(s), and therefore the 14-day ‘cooling off period’ under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply.
