What we'll do
Our Christmas HAF sessions are back and we have a fun day planned. We will kick off the day making a variety of Christmas decorations along with other Christmas themed arts and crafts activities. There will be a wide range of activities tailored to meet the needs of children of all ages. This is a day when everyone mucks in so we will need some helpers to assist with preparing lunch which will be cooked over the campfire. After lunch there will be time to have some free play or simply chillax in the hammocks or by the fire. We will finish up the day with a smore or a mince pie and of course our notoriously good hot chocolate.

About your mentor
Alison
Forest School Leader and Founder
I was introduced to Forest School by my partner, Sharon, when she started working in this field. Initially I would help her set up for her sessions. My role gradually grew as I started to help out at the sessions as well as working behind the scenes with the admin. In 2021 Sharon and I started Portsmouth Forest School CIC. One of our aims is to help people of all ages access and enjoy the benefits of being outdoors. The more I got involved with the business, the more I saw first hand how people benefited from the sessions, and this spiked my curiosity to learn more. I embarked on my Forest School training which I completed in 2023 and have not looked back. I have a history of working in the Health and Social Care Sector and worked in the health sector as a qualified nurse so have a lot of experience working with people who have additional support needs. Currently, alongside working at Portsmouth Forest School, I am also a massage therapist and a Somatics Movement Teacher which I practice part time.
