A summary
With experience spanning outdoor skills, land-based learning and therapy-informed approaches, Hayley's work explores how time spent in green spaces (woodlands, fields, forests) and blue spaces (rivers, lakes, coastlines, supports emotional regulation, resilience and recovery. Bridging the bushcraft and therapy worlds, this talk draws on both practical outdoor experience and therapeutic insight to explore why nature is not just restorative, but essential. Attendees will gain an understanding of how blue and green spaces influence the nervous system, mental health and overall wellbeing - and how these environments can be intentionally used within therapeutic and community settings. This session invites professionals and practitioners to reconnect with nature as a powerful ally in healing.
