What we'll do
Get ready to unleash creativity and transform ideas into bold visual art with Design to Wall – Street Art in Action. This exciting hands-on activity invites young people to explore and learn graffiti style techniques working alongside a professional artist and our experienced team of youth workers. Together, participants will learn how imaginative ideas can grow into vibrant designs that make a real impact on outdoor spaces. During the session, young people will be introduced to a variety of design techniques, from sketching initial concepts to experimenting with colour, shape, and composition. With guidance from the artist, participants will learn how this art form is planned and prepared with the opportunity to develop their own designs. This is a fantastic opportunity for young people to express themselves artistically and contribute to something visible and meaningful within their community. Also as part of this session, young people will get the change to contribute and create a large on site mural gaining practical, hands-on experience. Young people will learn how to prepare outdoor surfaces safely, organise materials, and work together in teams, plan, problem solve, communicate to complete a large scale shared creative project. Once the artwork is complete, the experience continues inside our welcoming youth hub space, where young people can relax, socialise, and take part in a range of additional activities. The hub provides a safe, comfortable environment where participants can enjoy table games, creative activities, music, or simply spend time chatting with friends. Youth workers will also be on hand to offer guidance, support, and encouragement in a friendly and positive atmosphere. Our outdoor areas also offer space for informal games, fresh air, and further opportunities for young people to unwind after the creative session. These spaces are designed to help young people feel comfortable, connected, and part of a supportive youth community. To keep everyone fully fuelled after this imaginative and active session, participants will also enjoy a ‘home-cooked’ style meal together. Young people will be able to choose from a selection of menu options, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy. Design to Wall – Graffiti Art in Action is more than just an art activity; it’s an inspiring experience where creativity, teamwork, and community come together to transform ideas into something truly special.
