What we'll do
So, you're wondering about the football sessions? Imagine this: you come along, and you're immediately welcomed by a friendly group. Our coach, who's actually from Oldham Athletic Community Trust, so she really knows her stuff, will start with some fun warm-up drills – nothing too intense, just to get everyone moving and comfortable with the ball. Think of it as a relaxed kick-about with some guidance. Then, we'll move into learning some core skills. We're talking things like how to control the ball properly so it doesn't go flying off, how to pass accurately to a teammate (even if they're moving!), and how to take a shot on goal with a bit of power and precision. The coach breaks everything down into easy-to-follow steps, and she's really encouraging, always giving tips and feedback. It's not just drills, though! We also play mini-games. Think of it like a small-sided match, so everyone gets lots of touches on the ball and a chance to try out what they've learned. It's all about having fun, getting active, and building confidence on the pitch. And because it's girls-only, it's a really supportive and comfortable atmosphere, whether you've played before or are completely new to it. Basically, it's a 10-week program where you'll go from maybe feeling a bit unsure about football to feeling much more confident, making new friends, and actually enjoying playing the game. Our Oldham Athletic coach ensures everyone gets individual attention and improves at their own pace. It's a great way to get fit, learn a new skill, and have a good time!
