A summary
Step away from busy schedules and spend a day connecting with nature, having fun and making memories together. Set within the peaceful surroundings of Charlotte's Wood, this special collaboration between Charlotte of Charlotte's Wood and Santana from Warrior Movement invites children and their parents or carers to slow down, explore and enjoy quality time outdoors. Through movement, creativity, play and shared experiences around the campfire, you'll be supported to connect with each other and the natural world. Whether you're looking for a day of family adventure, a chance to unplug from screens or simply some time to relax and enjoy nature together, this retreat offers a welcoming and supportive space for all. The day will include: • Nature connection and woodland exploration – Discover the woodland through guided activities that encourage curiosity, observation and connection with the natural world. • Woodland Qigong Disco – Join Santana from Warrior Movement for a fun and uplifting session combining movement, music and play, helping everyone to let go, laugh and feel energised. • Woodland games – Enjoy a range of family-friendly games designed to bring people together and encourage teamwork, creativity and fun. • Nature crafts – Create simple nature-inspired crafts using materials gathered from the woodland. • Campfire and outdoor cooking – Gather around the fire to prepare and enjoy delicious snacks together. Families are invited to bring their own picnic lunch and refreshments. Snacks and ingredients for campfire cooking activities will be provided. We will be outdoors throughout the day, with shelter available if needed. The retreat is suitable for children aged 5 and above attending with a parent or carer. All activities are offered in an inclusive and accessible way, with no previous experience required. The cost for the day is £40 per parent/carer and child, or £20 for families experiencing financial hardship. Additional adult and child places are available for £20 per person.

Charlotte's Wood
Charlotte's Wood is a place where people can connect with nature. It is a tranquil, privately owned woodland in the heart of rural East Anglia - large enough to lose yourself in but not large enough to get lost in! The woodland has a path running around the perimeter that makes it accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Next to Charlotte's Wood are two luxury holiday lodges and a cosy log cabin sits on the woodland edge.  The cabin is used as a venue for meetings and training and as a meeting point and shelter during woodland activities. It can also be hired as a place to stay. There is a toilet in the cabin at the entrance to the woodland and a compost loo in the woodland that is used during sessions. At the woodland Charlotte facilitates various activities and events for adults and children throughout the year. The overarching aims of these are to provide meaningful nature connection experiences for all in order to promote physical and emotional wellbeing, to bring people together and promote social interactions and to generate a lifelong love of being outside in the natural world. These experiences include: * Forest School Leader training, taster days and CPD sessions for Forest School Leaders and assistants. * Wellbeing Days and PD Days for school staff and other organisations. * Seasonal Wellbeing Retreat Days. * 'Learn to Nordic Walk' courses and regular Health and Fitness Walks. * 'Wild Wood Holiday Club' for children aged 4-11 years. * 'Little Woodies' - Parent and Toddler Forest School sessions. * Seasonal Events for parents and toddlers such as the Halloween Spooktacular, Easter Eggstravaganza, Elf and Fairy Party, Teddy Bears' Picnic and Christmas Little Woodies.
