A summary
For ages: 8 - 25 years Drop off session / parents are welcome to stay Petite Ponies has been awarded funding from Milton Keynes City Council to deliver sessions specifically for Short Break families with SEND support for children during the Summer school holidays in 2024. To be eligible for this Short Break activity, the child or young person must: be between 8 and 25 years and have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP). During Animal Club at Petite Ponies children and adults up to the age of 25 who qualify for short breaks will meet, interact and spend time with all of our animals including miniature horses, donkeys, ferrets, rabbits, goats, guinea pigs, sheep and chickens. The small group sessions (maximum 12 people) will be delivered at Chase Farm, Whaddon, Milton Keynes, MK17 0PP - please ensure you are able to travel to the session before booking as NO transport is available. They will learn about all the different animals and get involved in their care and welfare. Children and young people will have the opportunity to brush horses, lead them around obstacle courses or go for a walk with them around the farm. Our experienced team work with SEN young people and vulnerable adults every day supporting them to fully engage in activities and learn new things and most of all have fun! Please ensure that those attending have appropriate clothing and footwear for being on a farm site. Due to the limited availability of these places and to provide as many of our Short Breaks families the opportunity to access this activity, there is a limit of one family session/booking for this activity over the summer. If you are unable to attend, please cancel the session to allow the place to be accessed by another child/young person.

About your mentor
Petite Ponies
We are all friendly, fun and animal mad!
At Petite Ponies we have been doing equine and animal assisted learning, personal development and well-being for over 16 years supporting SEN young people, vulnerable adults, families and people with life challenges. We also deliver an alternative educational provision for SEN children and young people during term time.
Supervision
We have trained SEND staff members to look after and support the attendees. Child/children and young people can be dropped off by their parent or carers and they can attend by themselves. Please note that animal club is a group session of up to 12 participants supported by three staff members. If the attendee requires a closer supervision or personal care parents/carer should also attend. Parents / carers are welcome to attend if they feel the child needs them to stay. Parents or carers do not need to book a ticket.

My experience consists of a leisure activity, on a specific date(s), and therefore the 14-day ‘cooling off period’ under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply.
