A summary
Love Mondays Again Does your child struggle with: • anxiety around school? • feeling overwhelmed in large classrooms? • friendships or social confidence? • neurodiversity or sensory overwhelm? • emotionally-based school avoidance? • the transition to high school? We run a small, nurturing forest school group in the woods at Dodnaze for children aged 8–14 who may benefit from a gentler, more relational approach to learning. Originally created for home educated children, we are now also welcoming some children attending through blended or reduced timetables agreed with local schools. Our sessions • small-group & wellbeing-focused • child-led & outdoors-based •full of practical woodland skills, •creativity & friendship •calm, supportive & low-pressure Children spend the day: • around the fire • building confidence • making friends • using tools safely • cooking outdoors • creating, exploring & learning at their own pace Some local schools are already supporting children to attend where mainstream education is currently feeling overwhelming or inaccessible. ? Dodnaze Community Association is a community-led organisation based in Hebden Bridge, providing inclusive activities that support wellbeing, connection and access to nature. We work with children, young people and families through outdoor learning, holiday provision and creative community projects, with a focus on building confidence, resilience and a sense of belonging. Our sessions are welcoming, supportive and designed to be accessible to all, including those facing financial hardship or additional needs.
