What we'll do
Please Join us for a short walk around a lovely part of Daisy Nook Country park with a focus on foraging Early Spring plants such as nettle and Wild garlic. We will be meeting at Bardsley bridge Car Park and talking a leisurely walk around the country park learning how to identify key plants growing at this time of the year. We will talk about what spring wild garlic is used for and have a chance of picking and taking some home . Daisy Nook Country Park is a well-loved green space that offers a mix of woodland, waterways, meadows, and pathways. It’s particularly popular for walking, cycling, horse riding, and family outings. For those who want to extend this experience, you can join the River walk from the car park too and experience a longer walk. Key features: Medlock Valley Trail – A scenic route that follows the River Medlock through woodland and countryside. Play area and café – A popular stop for families and visitors. (this is at a different entrance) Old fairground site – Known for hosting the traditional Good Friday Fair, a local event dating back to the 19th century. Wildlife – The park supports a variety of flora and fauna, including birds, wildflowers, and aquatic species. There are no toilets on this part of the park, however a short drive will take you to the main entrance with access to cafe and toilets All attendees who book on will be texted be the walk leader with more detail sooner to the time.
