A summary
The Cygnet parenting support programme is for parents and carers of autistic children and young people aged 5-18 with a diagnosis from a professional. There is a 1.5 hour session each week for 7 weeks. It takes place using Zoom. Attending Cygnet gives parents and carers an opportunity to develop their understanding of autism and look at practical solutions to support their child. It also provides the opportunity to meet other people in a similar position and hear about their experiences in an informal but supportive, warm and friendly atmosphere. The course is funded by South Gloucestershire Council, so your child must live in South Gloucestershire for you to qualify.

Support for parents of children with Autism
We are proud to provide the Cygnet parenting support programme for parents and carers of autistic children and young people aged 5-18. Parents of autistic children face the usual positive and difficult challenges of parenting and quite a few more. Attending Cygnet gives parents and carers an opportunity to develop their understanding of autism and look at practical solutions to support their child. It also provides the opportunity to meet other people in a similar position and hear about their experiences in an informal but supportive atmosphere.
DATES AND TIMES
This course will be delivered online using Zoom weekly on Wednesday evenings 7pm-8.30pm. (Please note you need to attend all 7 sessions): 14 January 2026, 21 January 2026, 28 January 2026, 4 February 2026, 11 February 2026, (skip 18 February for half term), 25 February 2026, 4 March 2026. Please note that we will send out joining instructions for the Zoom 2 days before the first course date.

Eligibility Criteria
Please note the following: You MUST have a diagnosis that your child has Autism from a professional, You / Your child MUST live in South Gloucestershire, as the course is funded by South Gloucestershire Council.
