A summary
Join us for a joyful mix of hands-on creative sessions designed to spark imagination, build confidence, and develop practical skills. Each activity offers a chance to explore new materials, learn fun techniques, and take home something uniquely handmade. Our workshops are playful, relaxed, and welcoming to all. We focus on creativity, self-expression, and sustainable making using recycled and repurposed materials wherever possible. These sessions are all about learning by doing, making friends, and having fun through art and craft. At Hobbies Center we will be offering the following activities; 29th July - Textiles – Print, Press and Patterns Get creative with fabric and print in this fun, hands-on session! You'll explore simple textile printing techniques using stamps, blocks, and everyday objects to create bold, colourful patterns on fabric. Experiment with colour, shape, and layering as you design your own unique textile piece to take home. A playful introduction to surface design and creative expression – no experience needed, just bring your imagination! 5th August – Den Building This energetic and hands-on session invites children to work together to design and build their own dens using natural and recycled materials. It’s a fantastic opportunity to develop teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills while staying active. Through imaginative play and creative construction, children gain confidence, explore engineering concepts, and enjoy the freedom of building something entirely their own. 12th August – Miniature Games Making In this imaginative session, children will invent and design their own board or tabletop games using recycled and upcycled materials. From game rules to characters and themes, every element is up to them! This activity nurtures creativity, storytelling, and design thinking, while also building logic and problem-solving skills. Children will have the chance to playtest and share their games with others, promoting teamwork, communication, and lots of fun through playful collaboration. 19th August - Crafts & Charms at Hogwarts Step into a world of magic with a creative day full of Harry Potter–themed crafts! Young witches and wizards will make their own wands, design house badges, and create magical potion-bottle art. This enchanting session sparks imagination, supports literacy through storytelling and character connection, and encourages social interaction in a fun, inclusive environment. Perfect for fans of the beloved book series who love to craft, create, and explore the magic within!
