A summary

Come join Cooking Caterpillars Club for our school holiday cooking workshops where your child can learn some great life skills whilst having fun baking, cooking and tasting lots of yummy recipes. They will have lots of lovely things to bring home to share with the family after their day with us, along with wipe-clean recipe card so they can cook the recipe at home. Each of our workshops offers something a little bit different but at each session your child will learn at least two recipes with lots of cooking tips and crafty bits along the way. Each workshop will run for 4 hours with a healthy hot lunch which your child will help to make and refreshments included.

Cooking Caterpillars Cooking Club

A fabulous cooking club for kids

Is your child a fussy eater? Or perhaps they are a budding MasterChef? Either way, Cooking Caterpillars can help broaden your child's culinary horizons and introduce them to a world of new and exciting foods in a fun and creative way. Cooking Caterpillars is a fun cooking club for 5 to 16 year olds. We offer kids cooking lessons, holiday workshops and cooking parties in the Rutland and Stamford area.

What we provide on the day

All food ingredients All cooking equipment Packaging to take their recipes home in Wipe clean recipe cards Aprons Drinks throughout the day A hot healthy lunch (special dietary needs catered for)

Learning aims

Aim 1

We promote healthy eating by giving children the opportunity to learn about nutritious ingredients, and the importance of balanced meals, and try new flavours, and textures .

Aim 3

At Cooking Caterpillars we aim to spark creativity by allowing your child to experiment with ingredients, explore new recipes and express themselves through food.

Aim 2

We aim to help fussy eaters feel more confident to try new foods by tasting and preparing a wide range of ingredients which hopefully broadens the range of foods they eat at home.

Aim 4

Our aim is to help children learn a skill that will last them a lifetime. We teach kids essential cooking skills that give them confidence in the kitchen in a fun and engaging way.

Summer Workshops

Picnic Party Ages: 8-14 years Tuesday 22 July 2025  In this fun session we will be learning to make lots of yummy treats to take on your summer picnics. Get ready to pack your picnic with homemade cheese and onion pasties, raspberry and white chocolate muﬃns and Pizza wraps. If the weather is nice we may even get to have our picnic lunch outside in the garden Junior Great Summer Bake-Off Ages: 6-11 years Monday 28 July 2025  Come and join in with this baking bonanza suitable for Primary age children. We will be creating a variety of baked savoury and sweet delights and we will show you some cake decorating techniques to help you create your own showstopper cakes to take home and wow your family with. Pizza and Pasta Age 8 -14 years Friday 1 August 2025  On this popular workshop you will learn to cook some classic Italian recipes. We will make fresh. Pizzas and garlic dough-balls from scratch, then use the pasta machines to make your own handmade pasta for a classic tagliatelle recipe. Asian Adventure Age 8-14 years Monday 4 August 2025 Get ready for an amazing cooking adventure as we journey to Asia and dive into the delicious world of Asian cuisine. Young chefs will have a blast learning to whip up a mouthwatering chicken curry and crispy Chinese spring rolls. Join us for a fun-filled experience that sparks creativity and a passion for cooking oriental style! Mad Hatter's Tea Party Age 6 - 11 years Friday 15th August 2025  A Wonderland cooking and craft experience awaits at our Mad Hatter's Tea Party workshop. Our tea party guests will be busy baking savoury and sweet treats including those famous tarts for the Queen. The Mad Hatter loves his guests to wear a hat so your little one will have some crafty fun making their own stylish creation Senior Great Summer Bake-Off Age 11-16 years  Monday 18 August 2025  Breads, traybakes and cookies will be on the menu, all with our signature Bake Oﬀ twist for this popular workshop. Harness your inner Mary Berry or Paul Hollywood and come and show us your showstopper baking skills. American Adventure Age 8 - 16  Tuesday 19th August 2025  On this cooking workshop you will learn to make healthy burgers from scratch and get creative with your own flavour combinations. For our sweet taste of the USA we turn the all American apple pie into some delicious crunchy muffins!
