A summary
This session offers children and young people a positive and active day focused on movement, wellbeing and practical life skills. The day will begin at YO4 Training Club in Pocklington, where professional coaches will lead a supportive and engaging fitness session. Activities will be tailored to the group so that everyone can take part, helping young people build confidence, enjoy being active and experience the benefits of movement in a welcoming environment. After the fitness session, the group will return to Young People Count where they will work together to prepare and share a meal, choosing between chilli and rice or chicken fajita wraps. While the food is being prepared, our Contextual Therapeutic Practitioner will deliver a practical wellbeing session exploring how physical activity, breathing and body awareness can affect mood and energy levels. Young people will learn how to recognise physical signals such as changes in heart rate, tension or restlessness, and explore simple techniques that can help with emotional regulation and managing stress. The aim is to give young people practical tools they can use in everyday life while also enjoying a fun and supportive group experience. Water and healthy snacks will be available throughout the session.
