A summary
Amazing Futures Holiday Scheme offers a range of exciting and enriching activities and resources at Portslade Village Centre. For summer 2024 we are offering the following dates, all 10 am - 2 pm, at Portslade Village Centre. Week 1: Tuesday 30th July - Thursday 1st August Week 2 : Tuesday 6th - Thursday 8th August Week 3: Tuesday 13th - Thursday 15th August Week 4: Tuesday 20th - Thursday 22nd August We are offering each young person a maximum of FOUR DAYS on the scheme, to ensure equal access to all. If we have additional spaces, we will offer additional days. Please book by 10 am Friday 28th June. We will then review spaces and your young person's needs, and then confirm your booking by end of day Friday 5th July. We cannot guarantee you will get your first choice of four days. If we still have additional spaces after this we will keep bookings live and offer you additional days. If no spaces are left, please join the waiting list. We will do our best to offer spaces to as many young people as possible. The activities programme is designed by young people and the staff team to excite, inspire and gently challenge participants to have fun, enjoy new experiences, make friends and socialise. Activities include sports and dance, arts and crafts, cooking and music, all supporting young people's health and wellbeing, and their personal and social development as they transition into adulthood. The provision builds young people's resilience and confidence, developing their life skills to learn, work, enjoy and achieve, and supporting young people to have their voices heard in, and influence decisions that affect them at Amaze and in the community. Sessions will be delivered by the talented Amaze team and our activity partners. Young people can access indoor, outdoor, sensory and quiet spaces. The structure of each four-hour holiday scheme session will be; • 10-10.15am: arrival • 10.30-11am: Group check-in and group game • 11-12pm: Activity 1 (usually with an external provider like Parable Dance, Capoeira etc) • 12-12.45pm: Personal care and lunch. Snacks will be provided and young people will need to bring a packed lunch with them • 12.45-1.45pm: Activity 2 (usually arts and crafts/board games or similar) • 1.45 – 2pm: Group check-in, feedback and home time Our team of youth workers on site will be trained to work with a variety of needs. We will be in contact with parent carers before the start of the summer holidays to ensure we fully understand a young person's needs and that staff are trained on any specific medication or support.

About Amazing Futures Holiday Scheme and B&H new Short Breaks provision Amazing Futures Holiday Scheme is for young people with SEND aged 14-25 in Brighton and Hove, with 4-hour sessions of supported fun on 6 days of the Easter Holidays (Tuesday 2nd – Thursday 4th April and Tuesday 9th – Thursday 11th April). The scheme offers 14 places per session: 10 young people in groups of 1:5 staffing, and up to 4 young people with 1:1 support. This fairly small scale scheme is because we have had limited time for set-up before the Easter holidays, we want to be sure we can staff the scheme safely, meet the needs of the young people attending and provide fun activities which support young people in their transition to adulthood (which is the focus of Amazing Futures). At Amaze we are aware of the importance of short breaks for families so we are piloting this service at Easter, May Half-Term and Summer, after which we review whether the scheme has worked well for families, and is viable for us to continue. We appreciate this initial offer is limited but we hope families will also be able to access some of the other provision commissioned by Brighton and Hove City Council (BHCC) alongside the Amaze scheme. We know PaCC will be gathering feedback on these new arrangements and continuing to work with BHCC to enhance Short Breaks services in the city. Places in the Amaze scheme will be allocated according to a range of factors, our aim being to achieve a balanced and workable group of young people in each daily session. To try to ensure fair access, each young person will be able to book up to 2 sessions in the 6 days of scheme running at Easter. It would be helpful if you can select any dates from the 6 listed which your young person could attend and we will hope to allocate you 2 from these. How to make a booking The bookings window will be open from 10am Monday 15th April until 5pm Wednesday 15th May. After that, we will review all bookings received and consider the allocation of places possible within the scheme's capacity. We will seek to confirm bookings with families for May half term by end of day Friday 17th May. We will contact families directly to discuss a booking/gain further information on a young person’s needs if necessary. Where all 1:1 places have been allocated, but where 1:1 or 1:2 level support is needed for a young person to be able to attend the scheme, we will welcome and support young people attending with a PA / carer if this is an option for them. We may also be able to work with BHCC to secure additional PA support. There is a £10 contribution towards the costs of running the 4 hour session. This is payable online at the point in time at which a reservation is made, although payment won’t actually be taken until a place is confirmed. So you will only pay for bookings that become confirmed places. If you wish to book a place and pay the £10 contribution by Direct Payments, please select the ticket option ‘Pay by Direct Payments’. We can then send an invoice as and when your booking is confirmed which can be settled by Direct Payments. Where paying £10 is a barrier for a young person to attend the scheme, we also ask that you contact us directly to let us know and we will look into alternative options. Once a session booking has been confirmed, it is non -refundable, due to the holiday scheme taking place so soon in May. If you do not get a place this time, we will add you to our waiting list in case of cancellations and contact you if a place becomes available. We will also aim to give priority to young people who weren’t able to come this time to get spaces on our schemes in July – August. Cancellation Policy
Once places have been confirmed, because of the late launch of the scheme/proximity to April dates, they are non-refundable on this occasion (apart from in exceptional circumstances).

My experience consists of a leisure activity, on a specific date(s), and therefore the 14-day ‘cooling off period’ under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply.
