A summary

Now in our 6th year as a HAF provider for holiday clubs, All Abroad! Bus continues with its aim to ‘transport’ children and young people abroad, through cooking/baking, eating & drinking, arts & crafts, music, movement, games, challenges, languages, fun and now adding some 360°VR headset tours to complete the immersive experience! Our 2026 Easter holiday clubs will run in Seaford and focus on spring and Easter festivals and traditions across the world: *From Tuesday 7th April to Friday 10th April 2026 (4 days) *9.30am to 2pm each day *Mercread Youth Centre, Seaford. *Aimed primarily at children aged 7-11 years old, but, as always, older children are welcome to attend as participants or in a helper role. Please contact Mentor with questions. *PAID places available. *FREE places for children eligible for benefits-related free school meals and other criteria (eg. young carers and SEND) - get in touch for more details. Each day, attendees will - prepare, cook and bake various snacks, drinks and lunches inspired by recipes from abroad; - enjoy creative and cultural activities and fun, inside and outside; - eat and drink the food they've made in café/restaurant settings they set up; - get outdoors when weather permits, and we have use of the sports hall; - learn some words and phrases in other languages! Parents and carers are invited to join us towards the end of each session to see what we've been up and to share some food tips and tastings - simple ideas from abroad to bring new, healthy and economical food and drink into the festive or daily menu at home.

About your mentor

Cook, eat, make, play, travel, languages, fun, 360VR

All Abroad! Bus is a language and culture project I've set up to 'take people on journeys' to the places, people and cultures of the languages they're learning (or may one day learn), without having to leave their local area! Through hands-on activities, food, music, stories, celebrations and 360°VR, I aim to spark curiosity about the wider world and help children see that languages are about real people and real lives. I've loved languages ever since I was at school and doing exchanges with my pen pals, realising even then just how powerfully languages can open doors - to other cultures, to other ways of living, doing and thinking. That's why I've tried to create the closest thing I can to those immersive experiences here in East Sussex, so that everyone can have these opportunities, as often as possible! I'm a qualified languages teacher (French, Spanish and German), but I'm happiest teaching beyond the constraints of a classroom. That’s why you’re more likely to find me delivering immersive experiences in schools, care, community and organisational settings, or leading holiday clubs such as these – where we can explore culture creatively and in depth. I've run holiday clubs for HAF since summer 2021, when “we travelled” virtually to France, Germany, Spain and South America over four weeks.. Since then, we’ve celebrated Christmas, New Year and Easter as they're experienced in many countries across the world. It’s so lovely to see many of the same children coming back again and again - they know it’s a fun, welcoming and safe space where they can try new things, taste new flavours and learn about the world with confidence. I’m really looking forward to this years “visits” abroad, and sampling yet more edible and cultural delights together with the kids.

What to bring

Please ensure that your child brings: - a named water bottle - a weatherproof jacket and suitable footwear for going outdoors (or separate footwear for wearing indoors if you prefer), please check weather in advance; - an apron, if possible There will be a morning snack and lunch, mostly prepared by the children plus fruit, veggies, other snacks and drinks available at all times. Your child(ren) are free to bring additional snacks, but please make sure these do not include nuts in case of any allergies.

Cancellation Policy

Cancel more than one week before the start to receive a full refund.No refunds can be given for cancellations made 7 days or less before the booked session date, although bookings can be transferred to another person for the same class. It may also be possible to transfer to another date, subject to availability, but this will be at the discretion of All Abroad! Bus. Should any sessions need to be cancelled by the Mentor, then credits or refunds will be offered.

My experience consists of a leisure activity, on a specific date(s), and therefore the 14-day ‘cooling off period’ under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 does not apply.
