What we'll do
We’ll split into small groups and take it in turns to go onto the courts for a fun, coached padel session. The coach will guide everyone through games, skills and friendly rallies, so it’s easy to join in whatever your experience. The court time will run for around 2 hours, with chances to swap over, support each other and keep the energy up between turns. We’ll make it friendly and inclusive, with plenty of encouragement and laughs as everyone has a go. Then we’ll finish with lunch together in the space provided by Ace Padel, a great chance to refuel, relax and chat with friends before heading home.

Middleport Matters Community Trust
Bringing the community of Middleport together
Middleport Matters Community Trust is a charity located at the heart of the community we serve. Established in 2015, our mission is to empower residents to reach their full potential by providing essential services and support. We create opportunities for people to connect, learn, and grow, addressing some of the key challenges facing our area. Our aim is to build a safe, welcoming, and thriving neighbourhood where people feel connected, supported, and empowered to live fulfilling lives. We are committed to ensuring that all residents, regardless of age or background, have the opportunity to succeed. As part of this, we offer a range of dedicated youth services that provide safe spaces, positive activities, and tailored support for young people. These services are designed to build confidence, develop life skills, and open up opportunities for personal and social growth.
Meeting point and what to bring
We will be meeting at Ace Padel. Please look out for Middleport Matters staff who will be waiting at reception to sign young people in and guide the group through to the activity space. If you arrive early, please stay in the reception area until a staff member greets you. Please ensure all attendees bring a water bottle and wear comfortable sports clothing and suitable footwear (e.g., trainers, leggings/joggers/shorts and a t-shirt/hoodie).
Learning aim
Aim 1
Attendees will understand the basic rules and safety of padel and be able to take part confidently (serving, returning, moving around the court and working as a team).
