A Day at Seedlings Holiday Club
Arrive from 9.30am to a warm welcome from your friends at Acorn Hollow. There will be time to explore and settle in before everyone gathers around the fire circle to get to know one another and learn the four simple rules that help keep Acorn Hollow a safe and happy place for all.
You’ll have the chance to join in with a group game and warm up with hot chocolate around the campfire — including dairy-free options and gluten-free biscuits.
We’ll introduce some of the activities available for the day, and then the adventure is yours to choose. You may wish to join one of our guided activities or simply follow your own curiosity and explore at your own pace.
Lunch will be enjoyed together around the campfire, sharing stories, laughter, and time outdoors. If you have a HAF funded place your packed lunch will be provided. This will consist of a sandwich (choices will be ham, cheese, tuna), some chopped salad or vegetables, crisps, yogurt, fruit and a cake, or similar provision. Drinks of cordial and water are available for all children throughout the day.
(Please note: we will ask for choices of sandwiches and advise of any change to the meal offered via email or message the week before your booked session)
Along the way there will be animals to meet, mini beasts to discover in the wildflower field, and a whole new world of nature waiting to be explored.

What to Wear
Acorn Hollow is located on a working farm, which means we work whatever the weather, there may be mud, there may be rain, we might have wonderful bright warm sunshine, and there will be animal poo underfoot in places. Please make sure you wear appropriate clothing, clothes and shoes that are allowed to get muddy are essential. If you have wellies and waterproofs please bring them with you. The more layers you can wear the better, that way we can add or take off layers depending on the weather. During warmer weather please ensure you still wear long trousers or leggings, it would be advisable to apply sun cream before the sessions also as we will be in the sun for much of the time.
Hand Washing/Safety
Safety instructions will be delivered at the start of the session. We will encourage children to wash and sanitise their hands at various points during the session, please could you ensure you help your children to make sure their hands are clean before leaving the site.
We recommend that pregnant women avoid attending during the lambing season (March-April) due to the slight risk of the transmission of Zootronic infection from our animals. These are generally transmitted through direct contact with lambing animals. Pregnant women are at an increased risk of complications from infection.
