What we'll do
We always have great fun at holiday club! Every day there are lots of activities to choose from all day, including painting, art and craft work, construction games and materials, shared board games, role play areas, computing and lots more! Each day we have at least two outdoor play sessions where children can choose to play with a wide variety of outdoor games and equipment, as well as taking part in team games if they would like to. There is always a lead themed 'activity of the day', led by our staff, where everyone can enjoy new experiences as well as learning some terrific skills for life. This year our activities will include (on different days): - making puppets and performing with them using our puppet theatre, - cooking and baking (home-made pizzas and banana bread), - gardening and planting up pots to take home and grow, - den building on our large field area, - orienteering and a treasure hunt, - imaginative 'junk' modelling to create our own robot designs. Places are limited and always in demand, so we advise you to book early. We look forward to seeing you soon! IN LINE WITH HAF ELGIBILITY, CHILDREN MAY BE BOOKED ON TO A MAXIMUM OF 3 DAYS OUT OF THE 6 AVAILABLE. PLEASE DO NOT REQUEST MORE THAN 3 DAYS. MANY THANKS
About your mentor
Mr Smith
Fun and friendly!
I have been teaching for over twenty five years in a wide variety of different school settings, and have been a member of the St Joseph's team since 2020. I enjoy helping children to develop skills in a range of areas whilst having lots of fun at the same time!
Learning aims
Aim 1
To develop focus and concentration as well as co-operative skills, by taking part in team games and activities.
Aim 3
To learn how to plant and care for seeds successfully - finding out what seeds need to germinate and grow, tending to their own seeds to ensure successful growth.
Aim 5
Enjoy creative opportunities through painting, collage and construction activities, finding out how to colour mix, different ways of joining materials and using different media to create artistic effects.
Aim 2
To develop understanding of healthy eating choices and how these contribute to a healthy lifestyle, as well as learning and practicing food preparation skills.
Aim 4
To solve problems and puzzles in a team, developing persistence and resilience through solving orienteering puzzles and constructing outdoor 'dens' with others.
