Exquisite Porcelain Bowls and Dishes
Mentored by Jenny Wightwick
For ages: 18+ years
A SUMMARY
Porcelain clay has unique qualities. Its delicacy, translucency and remarkable strength have an enduring appeal. During this workshop, porcelain clay will be slab rolled and cut to shape. Then, using both hump and slump moulds, dishes will be formed. Lace pressed onto the surface will create texture and slips will be applied to add colour. More than one dish will be made and the individual will be encouraged to explore and experiment with their own ideas. The workshop will begin with a coffee and chat with Jenny. All techniques will be demonstrated, and you will be encouraged to experiment with your own ideas in a relaxed atmosphere, enjoying the views from Jenny's workshop in rural Sussex. Your work will be glazed and fired and be ready for you to collect around two weeks after the workshop. No experience necessary. Drinks and biscuits will be provided during the day, please bring your own packed lunch.
