The Offshoot Foundation

**FREE Filmmaking Workshops for Young People**

Come and join us for **10 FREE sessions** where young people can learn filmmaking skills from professional filmmakers!

Across the workshops, participants will work together to **write, act, film, and edit** their very own short film.

**No experience needed** — just a willingness to be creative, share ideas, and work as part of a team.

**Key details**:

·       Suitable for ages 11 – 18 years

·       Maximum of **20 places** available per workshop.

·       We prefer participants to attend all 10 sessions (since the project builds toward a finished film), but you’re welcome to join a few sessions if that’s all you can manage.

·       You do **not** have to appear on camera if you don’t want to — there are plenty of behind-the-scenes roles!

**What you’ll do** **(a general guide):**

·       **Sessions 1-2**: Brainstorming film ideas, scriptwriting, learning about shot sizes and camera movement, film vocabulary, acting for screen, and discussing props, costumes, and crew roles.

·       **Sessions 3–9**: Filming and editing.

·       **Session 10**: Filming, editing, and a **special screening** for family and friends!

**Schedule:**

·       10am – 3pm, with a lunch break

**What to bring:**

·       Please bring your own lunch (no food provided)

·       Refillable drinks bottle

·       Comfortable clothing suitable for movement and weather

Come along, be creative, and discover how films are made!

At the end of the workshops, the participants will receive AQA Short Unit Awards, (subject to meeting the criteria).
