Nature educator & environmentalist
These fun days out give younger children (aged 7-11) a chance to connect with nature, explore their creativity and enjoy some wild fun and games. Each day will have a different focus: August 10th: summer survival special (bushcraft skills) August 11th: savages in the woods (wild games) On a practical note: we prefer that children book for the whole two days but if you can't make both dates you can book individual days. Please note this is not a residential event, days start at 10am and finish at 4pm. Please make sure your child wears suitable clothing for the time of year and brings a packed lunch/drink with them. The drop off and pick up point is Horam village car park. Your child will be met by our facilitators and the group will walk down the Cuckoo Trail (for 20 minutes) to arrive at our site decompressed and ready for the day!
About your Mentor
About your Mentor
Hello, I'm Phil Greenwood. I am the founder of Sacred Earth. I'm a former Royal Marine Commando but have spent the last 20 years working with young people in outdoor education. I'm an experienced group facilitator, mentor and naturalist. I'm also part of the global 8 Shields nature mentoring movement and the Helpers' Mentoring Society. I strongly believe that our young people - especially teenagers - need rites-of-passage programmes to help them find their place in the world. At Sacred Earth we do just that. We support young people to develop their social and emotional intelligence through a range of experiential learning programmes. We encourage creativity, community, ingenuity and a deep connection with the natural world.
