A summary
*DROP OFF SESSIONS* Only children/young people require tickets and parent/carers are not required to stay at these sessions or book a ticket. We have trained SEND staff members to look after and support the attendees. MK Film Club has been awarded grant funding from Milton Keynes City Council to deliver sessions for the Holiday Activities and Food Programme, for children in receipt of benefit-related Free School Meals (FSM), during the Summer Holiday After the success of our previous Easter HAF programme...we are back. We have created an exciting opportunity for the children to show off their talents and learn new ones whilst exploring their creativity this summer by collaborating with MK Film Club to create their own short film. Through hands on activities, we aim to teach children the valuable skills behind and in front of the camera. They will explore all aspects of filmmaking, including script writing, filming, editing, prop making, acting, lighting and using a green screen, all whilst making friends and experiencing new things. Our primary aim is to help children build confidence, enhance literacy skills and unleash their imagination in a safe and supportive environment, with an opportunity to learn new skills and develop existing ones. In the first session we will set a couple of themes, these will be explored through our imaginations to develop and create exciting material and allow every child to explore new ideas. The children will use their creativity to develop stories to put together their own short film over the summer period. The children will focus on team building and collaboration. They will brainstorm ideas, write scrips and enhance their social skills and most importantly.. HAVE FUN! We will have 3:12 staff to children ratio, meaning we are able to support 1:1 needs where possible. We are based in one room upstairs, with space outside the room to wander with an adult if any quiet time might be needed. Sessions will take place at Bletchley Youth Centre, Derwent Drive, West Bletchley, MK3 7BE
