A SUMMARY

Join us for a fun and exciting day, tracking animals in the landscape. Learn how to read tracks, follow trails and understand animals in the same way that the African San Bushmen do. Tracking is an ancient human skill that helped people survive in the natural environments where they lived. For these people it was partly a hunting skill – enabling them to know which animals were nearby and how they were behaving - but there is much more to it than that. It’s about having a deep understanding of how everything in nature in interconnected. An experienced tracker knows how the different elements of an ecosystem work in harmony with each other. Pretty amazing stuff! This course is suitable for adults and children over the age of eight. Those under 13 must be accompanied by an adult or guardian. Bring a packed lunch, drink, warm, waterproof clothing, notebook and pen/pencil.

Sacred Earth·Nature educator & environmentalist
Hello, I'm Phil Greenwood. I am the founder of Sacred Earth. I'm a former Royal Marine Commando but have spent the last 20 years working with young people in outdoor education. I'm an experienced group facilitator, mentor and naturalist. I'm also part of the global 8 Shields nature mentoring movement and the Helpers' Mentoring Society. I strongly believe that our young people need rites-of-passage programmes to help them find their place in the world. At Sacred Earth we do just that. Our programmes help young people develop their social and emotional intelligence through a range of experiential learning programmes. We encourage creativity, community, ingenuity and a deep connection with the natural world.
