What we'll doIMPORTANT!! We have additional SEND support certain dates so please make sure to book those dates if your child has additional learning requirements.
Please note that the sessions we are running on days 1 and 2 build on each other. They focus on a different part of animation, whilst retaining core principles. As such we would encourage booking onto day 1 and 2 if this fits with your schedule.
Ever wanted to make your own animation? You have come to the right place! Our workshops teach children how to make short animations, including operating cameras, using animation software/ computers and recording sounds. We will also have a screening premiere with parents/ siblings and children are sent their films to keep!
In addition to animation, Lucie from Feel Good Food provides 20 mins of fun nutritional cooking activities for children.
Seasonal-themed animation activities:
Summer 2024 – Sustainability
We will use the theme of sustainability to design animations looking at the crucial role humans have in protecting the natural world and how we might do this better.
We have 3 differetn animation activites which children can get involved with:
Paper animation (created paper scenes for animating)
Junk Motion animation (using everyday junk to design characters and then animate them)
Clay animation (included clay model making)
Summer Nutrition Activities:
1. Exploring our sense of taste: Taste testing a range of seasonal fruits and vegetables and discussing tastes such as sweet, sour, spicy and peppery.
Cookery activity- Children will learn to make their fizzy.
2. How to avoid food waste by making pestos and jams from excess fruit and vegetables.
Cookery activity: making sweet and savoury pastry straws with the homemade pestos and jams.
3. Focusing on how to buy and use local and seasonal fruits.
